Well, you can't have a great week every week it seems. This week brings about a rather ho-hum collection of games, highlighted by the first of the Crystal Defenders titles to hit WiiWare. DSiWare, though, features two games that unfortunately are lacking in a few areas. The Virtual Console release this week however is a solid title, making up for the slow week on the DSi.
This week's games are as follows:
Two new DSiWare games hit the channel this week. First up is Dr. Mario Express, which is like the Wii's Dr. Mario Online Rx, but with the multiplayer totally gutted. This is a real disappointment, considering how the DSi could have utilized multiplayer very well and the DS' history of being multiplayer-friendly. I'd personally skip this one if you've already got Dr. Mario somewhere in your collection, even if it's not a portable version.
Master of Illusion Express: Deep Psyche is your DSiWare game, and it's only 200 points. However, like last week, this is pretty much a bite-sized chunk of the original DS game Master of Illusion rather than something entirely new, which is a big disappointment. Again.
On WiiWare, we've got one new title, Square Enix's Crystal Defenders R1. The first group of Final Fantasy-themed tower defense challenges hits the Wii Shop Channel at only 800 points and will probably have enough content to keep both tower defense and Final Fantasy fans happy. This game is probably the lone high point this week among all the releases.
On the Virtual Console, there's Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair. The Sega Genesis classic comes in at 900 points and is a pretty solid all-around game and a good title from the Wonder Boy series. Still, it's not the best title to really put out in a week with so much other blah content because Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair doesn't really stand out as a must-have game.
Wonder Boy III: Monster Lair was released in January on the Japanese Virtual Console and in March on the PAL Virtual Console. It, along with Crystal Defenders R1, is available for download off the Wii Shop Channel, while Dr. Mario Express and Master of Illusion Express: Deep Psyche are available for download off the Wii Shop Channel.
Check back next week for the latest round of releases for the Wii and DSi. Until then, happy gaming!

Personally I have a DSi in Australia in 3x weeks after launch we have had only one new thing added to the store since April 2nd's launch. That game/shovelware was "Mixed Messages" personally I think the DSi is looking a bit like the Wii "A platform for shovelware minigames" you only play once or for 5 minutes than keep it hogging memory for later because you think you might play it again. In My opinion most of the DSiware launched so far is complete trash and a embarassment.

Yea, well, that is how the Wii and WiiWare started out. Now WiiWare has some good stuff on it. I would just say give it time. Though in Australia I am not sure how much time it will take! Likely longer than North America.
