Universal Fighting System To Expand To SNK Universe - Page 2

With such diversity between the character cards, very few characters operate in the same manner and even decks with the same character have the possibility of playing out differently.

Once the decks are built and ready to go, players alternate attack phases as they try to chip away the opponent’s health to zero and deplete their deck to nothing. Each card has a difficulty to play and the control check number printed on the top card currently on the player’s deck determines its success or failure. Successful attacks not only deal damage but are also added to a momentum pile to be used for further attributes and enhancements.

Attacks have hit zones including high, middle and low and in order to avoid damage, players will have to play blocks that match the direction of the attack. Foundations and assets mix up the game with a huge number of different factors such as enhancing attacks, healing your fighter, canceling an opponent’s attack and more.

Foundations can also be committed to raise your control check values by one so even if you flip a card that misses the difficulty, you have the option to commit as many foundations are needed to make up for the check difference.

While the series has been expanding, so has its organized play, which has recently joined the Gamers Round Table online. Registered store locations can keep tabs of recreational games to be reported online and, of course, full tournament support is offered to such locations.

Sabertooth distributes a large number of promotional cards for participation incentives and tournaments organized by Sabertooth itself offer the chance for the winner to be made into their very own character card.

Currently Sabertooth is keeping tight lips about future series releases but rest assured, the series will continue to expand into 2007.
