A new commercial has started airing for the Toyota Tacoma, which generally might not get a lot of buzz in the gaming community. That is, if it wasn't set in the ever-popular World of Warcraft game. And especially if it didn't parody one of the most well-known and well-loved moments in WoW's history.
The spot parodies the infamous Leroy Jenkins video, but with a much different outcome. Even Leroy's infamous line of "Let's do this!" makes the cut this time around. The linked video is currently missing the last five seconds of the ad telling you it's a Toyota Tacoma ad, but the most relevant part is there.
The Tacoma ad marks the second gaming-related ad in recent weeks, the first being an ad for Southwest Airlines. The Southwest ad parodied widespread reports last year of Wii remotes being thrown into TVs by gamers whose wrist straps had failed - or who hadn't used the wrist straps at all. The Southwest ad was generally received well by the Internet gaming community and perhaps may be a sign of more gaming-related advertising to come.
World of Warcraft, of course, is Blizzard Entertainment's popular MMO RPG based on the Warcraft series, with some 8 million subscribers worldwide. The Toyota commercial is not the first use of the game in the media, as an Emmy-award winning episode of South Park centered around the game.

Haha, I was totally amused by this when it came on TV. xD My family… not so much. They were more confused than amused. Ah well, at least the dorks will appreciate it. ;]
