On day two of its Road to E3 2006, SEGA has announced the development of Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz for the Nintendo Revolution console.

The game will bring back AiAi and the crew for new puzzle levels and Party Games designed to take full advantage of the Nintendo Revolution controller.

The Nintendo Revolution presents a totally unique avenue for our developers to explore the art of game design," said Scott A. Steinberg, Vice President of Marketing, SEGA of America, Inc. "Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz will present a mind-boggling array of game play innovations that will excite and challenge gamers while pushing the boundaries of imagination forward."

There’s no word on when the game will be released or whether it will be a launch title, but this title promises to be different than others in the series. This time around, AiAi and his buddies will have the ability to jump when the controller is flicked upwards, which expands the experience into what SEGA is describing as a true 3-D environment.

SEGA’s Road to E3 2006 is a countdown to the upcoming trade show in Los Angeles. Another new title is expected to be revealed tomorrow.
