Disney’s Buena Vista Games and Q Entertainment of Tokyo are teaming up to bring four new titles to the gaming arena. Unlike a lot of other new releases, these will be geared for all ages and look like they’ll challenge the mind and imagination both.

The new titles are mostly puzzle-based, and all but one is meant for portable players. The titles are: Lumines II for the PSP. This one is a sequel to the original action puzzle game. Lumines Plus is for the PS2 and is a new version of the original. Every Extend Extra is a puzzle shooter for the PSP. Meteos: Disney Edition is a newer version of the old game that will feature Disney characters. It’s meant to launch for the Nintendo DS.

All four titles are expected to come out later this year (in plenty of time for the holidays).

We are looking forward to enhancing our relationship with the talented team at Q ENTERTAINMENT to bring gamers unique and innovative gaming experiences,” said Graham Hopper, senior vice president and general manager, Buena Vista Games. “With BVG’s expertise in publishing a broad portfolio of video games for the entire family, these new titles are a perfect fit because they appeal to a wide variety of gamers.”

Lumines is a new puzzle offering a higher level of challenge than the classic "falling blocks" games. Follow the light and sound patterns and form 2x2 blocks to clear the screen before it fills up.
