PS3 Reviews: Exclusive Launch Games - Page 2

Customization options range from purely cosmetic, to upgrades to nitrous, tires, engines, and plug-in units. It is not so much to be granular, but enough to add a little more to the series.

While the cars don't look that much better, the environment detail is a big improvement, as is the lighting. The drastic, and sometimes flat, lighting from Ridge 6 is out, now with a more realistic tone.

The change in lighting is apparent immediately, and the results are stunning. The attention to detail in the textures is also a step above the year old Xbox 360 game.

Both single-player and online multiplayer offer a robust arcade experience that will last for a while. This may be an update to a year old game, but its got enough new, even including new tracks, which fans of this drift racing series will feel at home.

Ridge Racer 7 is rated E (Everyone) by the ESRB for Mild Language, Mild Suggestive Themes.

Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom — The Untold Legends series on the PSP has been a good hack-and-slash Action-RPG. Now it on the big screen and at the PS3 launch.

While The Warrior's Code lacked some of what made the original solid, Dark Kingdom surpasses both.

A new combo system feels satisfying, even if the controller lacks rumble. Some RPG elements have been streamlined, which goes a long way in making this a lot more action oriented.

You can "disenchant" items, basically selling them for gold - essence points in Dark Kingdom. The abundant save points allow you to spend essence to forge new armor and upgrades for your character's weapon.

Some camera issues exist, as does noticeable lag when many enemies are on screen at once. You may also notice draw-in problems as enemies seem to appear out of nowhere. These issues do not diminish the fun to be had in both single-player and multiplayer romps.

Offline you can play a two-player co-op game, but online this jumps to four. A wonderful feature, you can create an online room, and import your single-player game into it.

This is great for getting through a tough spot in the game.

Action-RPG fans should give Dark Kingdom a shot, it is an entertaining dungeon crawl, made better with a few comrades.
