PS3 Review: Time Crisis 4 - Page 3

A few other changes are present as well, switching between weapons uses a button and not the trigger, and you are not fighting against time as in the game proper. This is obviously a mode to show off the use of the gun in a FPS setting to other developers, and cater to Western audiences' tastes.

The biggest issue with Complete Mission is when the biological weapon, the Terror Bites, swarm the screen. Thousands of these scarab-like critters on screen brings the frame rate down, and it is noticeable at times. Beyond that is an enjoyable campaign.

Just like the FPS mode, the graphics are not going to knock your socks off. The environments and enemies are nicely detailed, everything is brightly colored and crisp. It might not stretch the legs of the PS3, but this is more about the experience than bleeding edge visuals. Music and sound effects are the weak spot here, it just gets you through the day; nothing special.

The game has much replay value added on when you get a hold of a second GunCon 3 controller. You can play the game with the SIXAXIS, but its just not the same, or as much fun. With much to unlock and shooting gallery-style mini-games, there is a lot packed on this disc to keep you busy for a while.

This is a must-buy for arcade light gun shooter fans. And with the current state of the PS3 software library, it is wonderful to see another solid exclusive game on the platform.

Time Crisis 4 is rated T (Teen) by the ESRB for Violence.
