Glee! This week's PSN update is two days early and features the eagerly anticipated Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix! I immediately downloaded this, completed Story mode with Chun Li and played about 20 games online. I can safely say this download is WELL worth the purchase. The online play is the quickest experience I have ever had...seriously. Within 10 seconds or so of looking for a match I was playing someone (and lost...drat). I held my own, but my Street Fighter skills are rusty, must practice endlessly. Look for me online — my PSN ID is Jer1ch0.
Oh wait, more stuff was available...whoops! There is another game on the shelf, Brain Challenge, an amusing Brain Age-style game previously found on the other console. We also have a great price promotion featuring The Last Guy, PixelJunk Eden, echochrome (PS3), Novastrike, and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 at the amazing price of $4.99. If you don't have some of these games this is a great time to grab them, Novastrike especially is worth a second look since they patched it.
A demo has appeared for the amazing game Dead Space appropriately called the Dead Space Dismemberment Demo. If you have not checked out this game yet now is the time. It is one of the best titles this year and that is saying a lot in the crowded market.
We have add-on content galore, with a turkey-themed free LittleBigPlanet costume as well as pay for Resistance 2 themed outfit. Music is plentiful with large updates to Karaoke Revolution Presents: American Idol Encore 2 as well as Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band. Coincidentally The Killers are featured in each rhythm game's updates.
Finally on the multimedia front we have many movie and video game trailers as well as the HD remixed soundtrack for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix which is FREE! Rounding out the update are wallpapers for Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix and Prince of Persia.
A great update if only for the Street Fighter goodness, but there are other quality items as well. Deets are below.
