PlayStation Network Update: 09/24/2009

Part of: PlayStation Network Updates

Wow, now this is a hell of an update. There is an amazing amount of content for the PS3 and PSP this week.

The update starts with some price drops on Brain Challenge and Droplitz (a great game) as well a sale on 25 Guitar Hero World Tour songs. We also have two new games, Command & Conquer Red Alert 3 Commander’s Challenge, which features 50 challenges in the Red Alert 3 universe and Zombie Apocalypse. Both look great but Zombie Apocalypse is catching my attention, can't wait to try the demo to see if this Smash TV meets Left 4 Dead packs any punch.

Many demos this week which is always a good sign. On top of the Zombie Apocalypse demo we have trials for Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Lost Planet 2 Co-Op Campaign, Wolfenstein and Punisher: No Mercy. All of these are games I really want to try so it is great to see them on the PSN, for some reason demos are rare on the PS3, let's hope this new trend of demos continues.

Add-on content is a-plenty this week. There is another free DLC pack for the amazing Batman: Arkham Asylum as well as the long anticipated Broken Steel DLC for the PS3 version of Fallout 3, out of all the Fallout 3 packs this one is a guaranteed must have.

Of course we also have the oddly small at 100Kb AFL legacy pack for Madden 10, hmm could it be we are paying for content already on the disc? From EA? Say it isn't so! There are also new Rock Band/Guitar Hero songs, another overpriced Tiger 10 course and a well appreciated free Midnight Club LA Police Car Pack.

On the PSP we have a deluge of downloadable games formally UMD only. Obviously this is in anticipation of the PSPGo launching next week, Sony needs to realign the pricing though as they are all more expensive then in conventional stores.
