PlayStation Network Update: 08/14/2008

Part of: PlayStation Network Updates

Sorry this update is late, I have been busy playing Bionic Commando: Rearmed and Street Fighter Alpha and lost track of time.

This is a true banner update for the good old PSN, nothing anyone could complain about...ooops except no new trophy supported games. It only took 9 comments on the PlayStation Blog before someone complained about that. Sigh — why are we fans so fickle?

The first HUGE entry this week is the AMAZING Bionic Commando: Rearmed, I dare you to watch the intro and not smile as the text and music plays. This is a must have on the PSN and it has the added benefit of remote play to your PSP. The next very appreciated update is Street Fighter Alpha for the PS3/PSP. I have already played through Ken and Ryu on Arcade on my PSP and am enjoying it greatly.

We also have an unbelievable 4 demos, 3 new one delayed. The Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2009 demo and the NHL 2K9 are both ones I am looking forward to. Bionic Commando: Rearmed makes a demo appearance in case you need some convincing. Finally there is a demo for 1942: Joint Strike, which appeared on the 'other' console some time ago. Not sure why it was delayed, but it is here now for your pleasure.

There is also the requisite late Rock Band tracks, who aside from Megadeath are all bands I have never heard of.

There is a literal ton of video content looking at The Last Guy, Bionic Commando: Rearmed, Saints Row 2, Vampire Rain, Legendary, Madden NFL 09, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 : Fusion and Mirror’s Edge. We also have themes for BioShock and Bionic Commando: Rearmed. Finally there are a number of Bionic Commando: Rearmed Wallpapers to enjoy as well.

There you have it — a great, fun-filled PSN update that should take you all week to play and next week we have another big week in store. Deets are below!
