Here we are, another week, another mixed bag on the PlayStation Network. The big additions this week are the Marvel Vs Capcom 2 game finally arriving and an expansion for Red Faction Guerrilla.
We discovered why the Marvel Vs Capcom 2 game was delayed on the PSN, apparently Capcom and Sony wanted to launch a retail voucher version with extras at the same time. It looks great and makes it worth the trip to a store for the game. Regardless of how you buy it, the release has been getting great reviews and is a winner it seems. The only gripe most people have is that the entire roster is unlocked at the start. Should be an option in my opinion. They have included a proper demo of the game as well.
Out of left field (for me at least) is the Red Faction Guerrilla expansion called Demons of the Badlands Pack 1. It is priced at the now standard price of $10 (a little much, but I digress) and seems to be packed with an interesting premise. The description is amusing as it describes achievements...tsk, tsk.
Hey! We have PSone clasics, hot damn! Wait? Dead in the Water...was that really a game? Ten Pin Alley, a bowling game? Oh Tomb Raider is here...for $10...umm I believe if you look hard enough you can find Tomb Raider Anniversary for that price. Much prettier, better controls, and the same core game. For shame Sony!
It is easy to forget the poor choice of PSone releases as there is a tie for badly conceived add-on DLC. The first, and worst, is the Madden NFL 10 Packs and Upgrades. Twenty seven steaming, corrupt cheat codes that you can pay for...hooray! The other nearly as bad pack is the Disgaea 3 DLC Complete Set for the modest price of $50. I simply cannot believe NIS and Sony had the gall to release a DLC pack for MORE then the game can be found for. Most of it is weapons and characters, some dungeons, but $50 is just a crime.
It isn't all bad news, we have more Cross Edge and Dynasty Warriors DLC, some free, some for a great price. We also have another environment, a new mode and a freebie character for Pain. LittleBigPlanet is once again pawning off some costumes, this time historically inspired.

Wow, Disgea wasn't even $50 when it first hit retail!

I downloaded the demo for Marvel vs Capcom 2. Not bad.
