PlayStation Network Update: 07/17/2008

Part of: PlayStation Network Updates

I told myself I wouldn't do it, I wouldn't talk about Final Fantasy XIII, I wouldn't cry... *sigh*. Weird week on the PSN, as on top of a quite stellar update to the PSN on the usual day (Thursday), there were a number of updates as the week progressed during E3.

We finally have a new PSN game in the form of Elefunk, a PS1 classic by the name of Rayman and a PSP downloadable game, the Star Trek Tactical Assault game. The Super Stardust HD Team Mode Pack also returns and is available for purchase. The Who Rock Band tracks make their way online and we finally have the previously Qore exclusive demo for Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm, as well as a demo for Elefunk.

There are many, many, many videos, too many to list, but most are well worth a watch. There is no FF XIII video... *sniff* ...you will have to see that elsewhere online... *sob*. There is a three part (very large) video that represents the entire Sony Press Conference, very good to see that.

We also have some wallpapers and themes. Oh, and I almost forgot, because I am Canadian and Sony hates us, but apparently - and I can't prove this because I cannot see it - there is some sort of video store on the PSN now. I won't use it even when it is there out of spite just like I won't buy FFXIII out of spite... aww, who am I kidding! Super long list below!

PS1 Classics for PS3/PSP

Rayman ($5.99)

One fateful day, Mr. Dark steals the Great Protoon and defeats Betilla the Fairy, plunging the whole world into darkness. It’s up to Rayman to defeat Mr. Dark and restore balance to the universe in this classic platforming game.
