Holy Add-on content Batman! This is a huge update as far as DLC is concerned, absolutely no new games or demos, but DLC abounds. The big, huge entry this week is the PixelJunk Eden Encore content. This is a huge update to the game with new music, five new levels, trophies and some surprises. At $5.99 it gives more value then 90% of the DLC out there.
Speaking of value the BUZZ! Quiz TV U.S. Sports trivia pack is horribly priced at $7.99, I imagine sports fanatics who also like couch quiz games are excited, but not I. It seems like $2.99 is a magic number as there are add-ons priced like that for Magic Ball, Midnight Club Los Angeles - South Central and Sonic Unleashed. The Magic Ball booster pack is the best of the bunch in my opinion with 25 additional levels at a great price.
Unfortunately $4.99 is also a popular price point with three Valkyria Chronicles packs and a WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2009 character pack coming in at that price. The Valkyria Chronicles packs look great and all but at 15 dollars for all three it is quite an expense. The WWE booster pack is oddly priced considering there is a FREE pack with more characters then the one at five bucks.
Speaking of free we also have the F.E.A.R. 2 Toy Soldiers pack and a LittleBigPlanet costume for the nice price of zero dollars. The F.E.A.R. 2 pack adds a lot of fun to the game and it is nice to see this as a bonus.
There are also the Rock Band and Guitar Hero tracks and an assortment of free and 'premium' themes. Oddly enough we have a free F.E.A.R. 2 content pack but the F.E.A.R. 2 theme is 99 cents...who prices these things? The big news in the music games genre is the Guns N’ Roses Chinese Democracy album for Rock Band. While the album did not set the world on fire (although something did freeze over), many fans will appreciate playing the album.
