PlayStation Network Update: 02/07/2008

Part of: PlayStation Network Updates

A fairly large download this week on the PSN. As is the norm, we see demos, songs, and some downloadable content. The major new item is Go! Sports Skydiving, a skydiving simulator that hopefully will be much better than the skiing game they released a few months ago in this line of games (it was basically unplayable). Sony has also released a new PS1 classic in the form of Crash Bandicoot: WARPED.

The major demo this week is Lost Planet, a former X360 exclusive; I am curious to try it to see if Capcom took care with the port or just slapped it together. We also see a free skin for MotorStorm to celebrate Chinese New Year and the compulsory Rock Band songs, the highlight for me being "Roam" (yeah, I know, but that song brings back memories).

Finally on the multimedia front we have a number of game videos for Burnout Paradise, Uncharted, MLB 08 and Conflict: Denied Ops as well as movie trailers for WALL•E and 30 Days of Night. Also as per the norm we see a new theme and a few new wallpapers (free, of course).

Once again Sony has delivered a solid update for us that should have something for everyone to enjoy.

Downloadable Games

Go! Sports Skydiving ($4.99)

Go! Sports Skydiving is a skydiving simulator that uses the SIXAXIS wireless controller to twist, turn, and pull off tricks. The easy and intuitive motion control allows you to move through the skies into various skydiving team formations or perform solo tricks with the greatest of ease. Supports several single player modes, including formation, team match, landing and several online battle modes. ESRB rated E.

PS One Classics for PS3 / PSP

Crash Bandicoot: WARPED ($5.99)

Oh, yeah! He’s back! AND he’s ready to rumble! It’s a whole new adventure with Crash Bandicoot, and this time he’s time-traveling through the ages with his little sister Coco! Scuba-dive with the sharks, ride a baby T-Rex, go soar the skies in a plane, gallop along the Great Wall of China on a tiger, dodge ancient Egyptian mummies, and much, much more! ESRB rated E.
