PlayStation Network Update: 01/14/2009

Part of: PlayStation Network Updates

Does anyone else see tumbleweeds? Very minimal update this week on the good old PSN. Not that it is a bad one, just not much to enjoy.

There is a price drop for Steambot Chronicles shaving half the cost off the title. We also have a demo for the UNO game that arrived a short while ago on the PSN. I would love to find out why we don't get day one demos, it is obviously doable (see the competition).

As far as really new content goes the only things are small releases. A name change for Magic Ball (to Magic Orbz) and a new pack for the game. They also made a Magic Orbz bundle that contains the game and all add-ons. I really don't understand changing the name, especially to one adding an unnecessary 'Z' at the end.

A new PSP Mini called Dynogems adds a twist on Bejewelled clones by adding magic and explosions! The price is right and puzzlers are generally always worth a spin or two. Luxor: The Wrath of Set appears as a full PSP game and we have a demo for the upcoming Lunar: Silver Star Harmony game.

The assorted (but less numerous then normal) themes, videos and Rock Band/Guitar Hero content rounds out the update. For more details, please visit the official PlayStation Blog.

Oh come on Mike. it is the cool thing to put a 'Z' at the end of games these days. Dogz, Catz, Horsez, it would not surprise me if Ubisoft came out with one called Gerbilz.

But the name change doesn't make sense.
