Nintendo showcased over 25 games at this year’s E3, all in full playable form. So far the launch lineup looks strong, consisting of 17 titles:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Wii Sports
Red Steel
Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam
Madden NFL 2007
Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
Metal Slug Anthology
Trauma Center: Second Opinion
Elebits
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance
Blitz: The League
Rayman Raving Rabbids
SpongeBob SquarePants: Creature from the Krusty Krab
Disney/Pixar’s Cars
The biggest name missing from this list is Super Mario Galaxy, confirming what Miyamoto hinted during E3, that the game ship "early 2007." Mario's absence shouldn’t be that hard on gamers, the two other major Nintendo franchises, Zelda and Metroid are both set as launch titles, and alongside Wii Sports, should definitely be top sellers.

It sure would be nice to have Mario, Zelda, and Metroid all at launch. But then my pocketbook is already going to be feeling the pain when the Wii launches later this year.
I can't wait to see how many games I can get with the console and still be under $600. That will be the ire of some jokes aimed at Sony for sure.

Actually I think even if you get the Wii and 3 games, it'll still cost you less than the PS3.

Well I am guessing the Wii will be $250 and games will be $50. So by those estimates, you will be able to get seven Wii games and a Wii for $600.
