Nintendo DS Review: Treasure World

Treasure World for Nintendo DS is an incredibly unique gaming idea. With this game, you and your DS go on a true treasure hunting experience, thus controlling the outcome and directions of the entire game from start to finish and everywhere in between.

First you view a cutscene that shows the breakdown of the spaceship. In order for it to fly again, the ship requires refueling with stardust. This leads to the main objective of the game which is to collect stars. Stars are collected and cleaned by your Wishfinder, which is a little robot that you can dress-up and design as you wish.  In the beginning, you are given the bare minimum of styles and choices. However as the game progresses, stars are collected and treasures revealed, the choices are virtually endless and limitless.

Collecting stars are made possible as you pass different wi-fi stations throughout the world - literally.  Simply load the game, do a couple of quick easy steps, and you are off and running. Star collecting can be done with the DS open or closed (the closed option is a safety measure to avoid collisions while driving down the road in treasure hunting mode). Each time you cross paths with a new wi-fi signal, the game will chime and the Wishfinder will clean the newly discovered star.

Later, during game play, each new star is a new treasure that you can use to decorate/disguise your Wishfinder and different planets. Another cool aspect of the game is that the items you decorate your landscape with also make music. That's right, can create and style your very own musical compilations. If that's not enough, Treasure World has an awesome interactive feature which allows you to save your music and share it with others. This interactive feature also allows you to swap treasures with other players and view one each other's booty. In addition, Treasure World has a website which players can go visit, to enter their unique code and open a vast new world of discoveries.
