My Top 10 Remaining Video Games of 2009

Part of: 2009 Gaming Gift Guides

My top 10 list of video games I definitely want to play before the end of 2009...and beyond. All release dates are subject to change.

Beaterator (PSP)

Popular musician/producer Timbaland consults on this PSP exclusive music creator from Rockstar. Hopefully the interface and my beats are smooth and satisfying.

Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (Nintendo DS)

This Final Fantasy/Disney collaboration has always been a great experience, which hopefully continues in this Nintendo DS exclusive. The new multiplayer mode allows up to four players.

Wii Fit Plus

As the weather gets bad, the healthy can stay in good shape with six new exercises and expanded customizations including a selectable workout regime or templates that target specific body areas and conditions.

Uncharted 2: Among Thieves (Oct. 13 on PS3)

Drake returns to recover an artifact left by Marco Polo. Expanded online multiplayer modes offer competitive and cooperative play options.

Forza Motorsport 3 (Oct. 27 on Xbox 360)

Race to your heart’s content with strong graphics and new single-player season game mode. The international content cache includes more than 100 tracks and 400 fully customizable and tunable cars.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (Nov. 10 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360)

The quintessential military experience gets even deeper with the new cooperative SpecOps mode. Hardened and Prestige (yeah, the one with the real night goggles included) editions also available.

New Super Mario Brothers (Nov. 15 on Wii)

The latest Mario incarnation includes two to four players in multiplayer mode support plus new properties like propeller suit and penguin Mario.

The Sims3 World Adventures (Nov. 17 on PC/Mac)

In this first The Sims3 expansion pack, you can expand your Sims’ worlds and skill sets with adventures to China, France, or Egypt while unlocking new interactions back at home and expanding your building option with an expanded basement tool.

Assassin's Creed II (Nov. 17 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360)

This open-ended action game series continues with all-new weapons and instruments created by Leonardo da Vinci.

Avatar (Nov. 24 on PC, PSP, PS3, Wii and Xbox 360

This movie adaptation has actually been in the works almost as long as the James Cameron directed film. Developers incorporate the film’s cast into the game’s voice talent with different supporting characters appearing in different console versions.

Hopefully I'll get to those should be-great games while I’m also playing other recently released games like Scribblenauts (NDS), MySims Agents (Wii) and Beatles Rock Band (PS3)  on my various consoles.
