The PSP has once again snagged a massively intriguing new intellectual property that is looking to crush the way players think about in-game dimensions.
Kuju Brighton recently signed with SEGA in order to release a game simply entitled Crush. The main hook in the aptly named title is the main character’s ability to crush his three-dimension environments into a new, two-dimensional world.
Details are scarce at this time, but the companies are promising a complex 3-D world in which players can crush to construct simpler platforms and unlock secrets or solve challenges.
Crush details the life and times of a man with a boatload of emotional baggage. In one final attempt to turn his life around, he turns to hypnosis in order to mend his past before it costs him his sanity.
"The studio's strategy is to develop games that appeal to new audiences. We believe that Crush will appeal to PSP owners who prefer a real and cerebral challenge to mindless action,” said Kuju Brighton Studio Head Ed Daly. “This game comes from a core idea we have had for a while and we are delighted to be making it a reality with SEGA."
Currently the game is on schedule for a 2007 release.
