— Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party gets mentioned. It was a big hit over at Comic Con with DDR fans. Apparently, they've improved the caloric calculation system and it'll use both the dance pad and Wii remote to determine how many calories you've burned. Then a brief video is shown. Ought to be interesting to see how this does on the Wii.
The game launches October 25th in Japan, and get this... it's relegated to the "kids corner" at TGS. Nintendo sure can't shake that "kiddie" image, can they?
The conference ended with Hideo Kojima basically going over every last thing Metal Gear coming out in the next six to 12 months:
— A new trailer for Metal Gear Solid 4 was shown, and apparently, it's pretty weird. Some of the scenes include an unsuccessful assault on a Foxhound brigade by a group of ninjas, a naked and hairless monkey drinking soda, a ton of action sequences, Snake kicking ass, and a guy running away embarrassed with his pants half pulled down. I'm not making this up. As for the game itself, early 2008 is still the expected release date.
— A new trailer ran for Metal Gear Online, showing off the game's squad tactics and some of the close quarters combat action. The game will be at TGS featuring 6 versus 6 online play and will indeed ship with a Metal Gear Online Starter Pack. Sweet.
— Kojima also touched on Metal Gear Solid Portable Ops Plus and Metal Gear Solid 2 digital graphic novel, showing off a trailer for each. Metal Gear Solid Mobile is also announced as coming pre-installed on W53S phone from Sony Ericsson. If only it were coming out here...
