The Matrix Online, Now With Battle of the Bands
Sony Online Entertainment has announced that the first-ever in-game "live" rock concert will be held this April in The Matrix Online. The first band to have a concert is "A Piece of Blue Sky."
If you want to join in one this battle of the bands contest, you will need to send SOE a track on your music between April 3rd and April 9th. The winners of the contest will be announced on or around April 19th. The winning bands will perform in a video game concert within the game. SOE will be picking 25 winners for a three-hour, five-day concert.
Sony Fan Faire 2006
Sony Online Entertainment is hosting an event in Atlanta, Georgia for dedicated fans of MMOs such as Star Wars Galaxies, EverQuest, Everquest II, PlanetSide, The Matrix Online, and many other MMO games.
This event is designed to allow SOE players to meet other players in a fun, real life, social environment. Players will also have a chance to meet the people behind some of SOE's games. Attendees will see exclusive sneak peeks of upcoming PC and PSP games, as well as participate in panel discussions, meet new friends, and enjoy game-themed live events.
Other events taking place at the Sony Fan Faire include a special appearance by Curt Schilling, pitcher for the Boston Red Sox, as well as an EverQuest II fan, a costume contest, music acts, "Best of the Best" tournament where 50 players represent their own servers and fight in-game for their glory, in-game races, and much more.
Sony Fan Faire will be held at the Atlanta, Georgia Mariott Marquis. It will take place from April 6th to April 8th. More information can be found at the official Sony Fan Faire Web site.

According to Cosumer Affairs, Pelican has recieved 143 reports about the PSP Power Brick overheating, and causing the plastic cover to melt.
