The English LocoRoco site is up. If you haven't been there yet, you owe it to yourself to visit. LocoRoco is an upcoming PSP title that we previewed in May. It has that Katamari Damacy vibe to it, and will be a hot game when it hits store shelves in September.
In short, you navigate the site much like you navigate the game. You use the left and right arrow keys to move, and push them simultaneously to jump.
There are sections for the story (including the trailer for the game), friends and foes, downloads, screenshots, and LocoFun, a flash based game where you try to jump the farthest and clear the highest number of berries.
In 'downloads' you will find desktop wallpapers for PSP and PC, two different Windows screen savers, a MP3 ringtone of the uber-catchy theme music, and even IM icons (five in total). Sadly, you will not find a download of an English version of the demo. For that you will still need to go to the Japanese site.
As you may or may not know, I hate Flash, but this site is what makes Flash a very rich platform. Turning the site navigation into the very game you play on the PSP is just genius. It really is a well-crafted site.
After a month, I find myself still playing the demo. It is only one level, sure, but it is just fun to try for the maximum number of collectables. The information provided in the site's 'story' section is great since the three MuiMui in the demo do not speak English.
Now, don't waste any time and go play the site, I mean visit the site.
Update: With the release of the 2.71 firmware update, you can now download the English demo of LocoRoco from the PSP. These instructions explain everything.
