Resident Evil, Silent Hill and Fatal Frame. They're often held to be the pinnacles of horror gaming, but when people start to refer to them as the originators of horror, my skin crawls. Yes, they made a huge impact on the genre, but we were fighting ghosts and monsters over a decade before we took that fateful trip into the Arklay Mountains.
That's why Blogcritics Gaming is doing something special for the month of October. We're going back to horror's roots with reviews and features on the big names in classic horror. Titles like Clock Tower, D, Splatterhouse and Sweet Home. From the Atari 2600 to today, we'll cover the best the genre has to offer and the worst as well.
If you have a particularly obscure Horror title you'd like to see us review just e-mail us at gaming@blogcritics.org with the subject "Horror" and we'll see what we can do.
