Acclaim is looking to its players in order to complete voiceovers for an upcoming MMO title, as the company announced Friday it has officially kicked off its Voices Over 2Moons contest.
Through the contest, the company is looking to fill nearly 150 lines of speech in the game 2Moons, a free MMORPG for PC now in closed beta testing. The contest is holding open auditions in which players submit voice recordings to Acclaim in the hopes of being cast in one of the character roles.
Acclaim is looking for the best and most creative entries to be passed on to the Voices Over 2Moons finals. The winners will be hand picked by industry veterans David Perry (who is producing the title for Acclaim, along with Dance!), Tommy Tallarico and Rusel DeMaria.
"David Perry and I have been making games since The Terminator back in 1990," says Tallarico, "I'm excited to be helping with this new concept of not just user-generated content, but user-generated game assets. The users are helping make the game. That's cool!"
The game 2Moons is one of five upcoming titles that will be available on Acclaim’s Web site in the near future (9 Dragons is in open beta testing, Dance! and 2Moons is in closed beta testing and two titles are yet to be announced). Designed as a mature game targeted at ages 17 or older, 2Moons is touted as a brutal MMORPG featuring extreme fantasy violence and profanity that spans the game’s story.
