MMOG Magazine Being Launched In May
Beckett Media has announced that they will be launching a new North American video game magazine dedicated to MMOG gamers, called Beckett Massive Online Gamer. This magazine will mark the company’s first video game related publication.

The first issue will be released in May and will feature interviews, questing guides, instance maps, a Free MMO of the Month column, and articles on interaction with gamers on various MMO games.

Beckett Massive Online Gamer will be the perfect magazine for gamers looking to enhance their playing experience in a different direction,” said Mike Obert, associate publisher at Beckett Media. “We want to continue to the growth of the online gaming community through information sharing and interaction outside the games. We will be covering lifestyle and entertainment topics in each issue.”

Beckett Massive Online Gamer will cost $5.99 in the U.S. and will be distributed to over 50,000 retail stores such as Wal-Mart, Target, Blockbuster, and Borders.

Xbox Plays with Paramount
Paramount Pictures and Xbox Live entered into a new partnership bring users the new Xbox Movie Showcase service. The service launched today and offers users Hi-Def movies trailers, Xbox 360 wallpapers, and more. Xbox Live members can also enter to win a chance to play against a movie star like Jack Black. Expect to see more partnership deals with Xbox Live to come in the near future as they try to beef up their content offerings. Team Xbox reports a music store to rival iTunes and more fun games to the Xbox Live Arcade service, which has been a smashing success since its launch.

Duke Nukem To Make A Come Back?
Duke Nukem has been missing in action for a long time. The on again, off again, project is apparently back on again. The May issue of Computer Games Magazine is going to have an article on 3D Realms new title, Prey, and they will also feature the first new update on Duke Nukem Forever in at least three years. No one is sure what held up this project or if it will ever make a return to the shelves. But one thing is for sure, a good solider never really dies, nor does a good game.

New Sims 2 Patch Released
Aspyr Media has released a free update for The Sims 2, which will allow Mac users to enjoy Universal support and improved graphics performance on Intel-powered Macs. The download can be found on MacGameFiles.com. This patch also fixes several minor issues with the game.

EA Canada Named the Number One Dev Studio In The World
Develop, a British developer magazine, has again named EA Canada as the number one development studio in the world. The magazine went through 100 developers for their list, which was accumulated according to UK sales.

EA Canada is responsible for such successful franchises as FIFA, Need For Speed, SSX, and NBA Street.

Pandemic Studios, who are responsible for Star Wars Battlefront II and Mercenaries, came in second on this list. Other developers named include Maxis, Redwood Shores, Ubisoft Montreal, Polyphony Digital, London Studio, Konami, Nintendo, and Traveller’s Tales.
