Food Review: Kraft’s Philadelphia Italian Cheese & Herb Cooking Creme

As a new cook in the kitchen, one meal I can always rely on is pasta. However, no matter how many different types of noodles, pasta and red Ragu sauce can be used in so many ways. I have tried switching to just Alfredo sauce, but the taste seems very bland to me. So, terrified to try to make my own sauce, I saw a commercial for Kraft’s Philadelphia Italian Cheese and Herb Cooking Crème and thought that I would give it a try. The company boasts four different flavors but this one jumped out at me. The Italian Cheese and Herb Cooking Crème was incredibly easy to use and very tasty as well! If you would be interested with a sauce similar to Alfredo sauce but with a little kick, this is definitely a product for you.

The Kraft cheese empire began in 1903 when James L. Kraft began a wholesale cheese business in Chicago, Illinois. In 1914, Kraft opened its first cheese plant and started manufacturing its own cheese. In 1924, J.L Kraft and Bros. Company changed the company the name to Kraft Cheese Company, trading its first public shares. In 1950 the cheese king introduced Kraft Deluxe cheese slices, the first of its kind. Since then, Kraft has accumulated many popular brands including Maxwell House, Nabisco, Oreo, Oscar Mayer, and Philadelphia. Kraft released the Philadelphia Cooking Crème collection in early 2011. Along with the Italian Cheese & Herb, there are the Original, Savory Garlic, and Santa Fe blend. These cooking crèmes come in ten ounce containers that can be refrigerated and are incredibly easy to use. All you do is mix the cooking crème with whatever you’re making and you have a delicious sauce to spice up your meal! Not only can you experiment with these sauces, but Kraft’s Philadelphia website has several recipes to try with each different cooking crème.

The only drawback to this enticing item is some of the content. The Italian Cheese & Herb crème contains 5 grams of saturated fat, 30 milligrams of cholesterol, and 480 milligrams of sodium. However, when you look at most sauces or crèmes, these key areas will be high so the numbers are not totally out of the ordinary. Also, directions advise that you don’t put in this crème right after your food is done and steaming. Although it sounds like you can just mix it right in, the steam does evaporate it a bit but the tantalizing taste still remains.

I recommend this product to anyone who wants to spice up their usual dinner time. Whether it’s a pasta dish or a chicken dinner, the Kraft Philadelphia: Italian Herb & Cheese Cooking Crème will definitely give your dinner that extra kick it needs. Whether it’s a family dinner or an individual meal, this crème is very tasty! It does not just have to be for adult dining either – this crème can be mixed into the meals of people of all ages!
