Two reviews in the past few days (one by Tom Johnson, and one by me) and a few news bits here and there. Well, here’s another…

During the recording of De-Loused in the Comatorium, The Mars Volta had to let go of bassist Eva Gardner. Flea stepped in and finished up. Says Cedric Bixler, “I think some people thought that he was just going to funk-slap through the whole thing, but I know him better than that.”

Flea, of Red Hot Chili Peppers fame, has appeared on an Alanis Morissette album (Jagged Little Pill) and I’m sure a few other places. Who says bass players are boring?
