Mumbai, July 22, 2013:
The fierce five-year-old rivalry between Salman Khan and ShahRukh Khan finally ended with the superstars hugging each other at Baba Siddiqui’s Iftar party.
Salman and ShahRukh are both counted among the greatest Bollywood superstars of all time. They were also once best friends and known as the Karan-Arjun pair. But these superstars haven’t spoken to each other since the fight at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party way back in 2008.
Last night they were together at Congress MLA, Baba Siddiqui’s annual Iftar party at a five-star hotel in Bandra attended by various VIPs including the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Prithviraj Chavan.
The most-awaited moment came when Salman, who was having a chat with other guests, found ShahRukh right in front of him. Host Mr. Siddiqui took the lead and asked them to meet each other. They stood facing each other, then shook hands and hugged. They also allowed photographers to take home a picture of this rare occasion.
Later after the event Mr. Siddiqui said, “It was nice to see the two of them greet each other. I hope they become friends for life now.”
The news of the “patch-up” soon spread all over social media. Hash tag #SalmanHuggedSRK was trending the whole day on Twitter India.
