World Party is back in full swing.

Enter to Win World Party’s Back Catalogue

To celebrate the upcoming release of Dumbing Up, World Party and Blogcritics.org are giving readers a chance to win two CDs from the group’s back catalogue. Two grand prize winners will win copies of Private Revolution and Goodbye Jumbo.

WorldParty_Goodbye JumboFour years ago, Karl Wallinger’s World Party literally dissolved. In the wake of his song “She’s the One” being recorded and released by other band members without his knowledge, he terminated his record deal with Chrysalis Records. Later that year, his friend and manager, Steve Fargnoli, passed away. If that weren’t enough, Wallinger then suffered an aneurysm. Further adding to his dissapointment, “She’s the One” went on to win Williams the Brit Awards’ Single of the Year.

But while he seemed to be down, Wallinger couldn’t be counted out. He fought and won back the rights to his entire catalogue from EMI Marketing. Arma Andon not only offered to manage him, but the two also formed a new label, Seaview Records. Universal decided to join the party by way of a distribution deal, and for the first time in nearly ten years, World Party was asked to perform live. The group recently appeared at the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.

WorldParty DumbingUpIn a triumphant return to music, World Party, led by Karl Wallinger will be releasing Dumbing Up on May 2. Older albums are also being released under the new label. Private Revolution and Goodbye Jumbo were released on April 4th and Bang! and Egyptology follow on June 6th.

World Party is back in full swing and plans for the future are looking bright. Visit their website for more information on upcoming events.

How to Enter: Send an email to [email protected]. Include your full name, address, phone number and email address. Entries must be received before April 30. Winners will be announced after May 1st. The contest is open to United States residents only.
