This book immediately caught my eye because of the title, a brilliant twist on the Fountains of Wayne song from a few years back. After reading the blurb, I thought it sounded a little different, too, so I dove in. And boy, am I glad I did.

Stacy’s Dad Has Got It Going On features three main characters: Stacy, her dad Eric, and Stacy’s roommate, Savannah. It’s Savannah’s story, though, and deals with what happens when Stacy’s mother cheats on her father, resulting in him coming to stay with Stacy and Savannah.

When Savannah first spots him in their apartment, she doesn’t recognise him – simply seeing him as an impossibly attractive older guy. Then when Stacy reminds her, she’s a little shocked to realise she thinks her friend’s dad is hot.

Things are awkward as the girls learn to live with a man – who happens to be one of their fathers – in their apartment, and when Savannah catches Eric less than fully clothed on more than one occasion, her attraction to him becomes stronger. As they get to know one another a little better, Savannah decides she really likes him, as well as fancies him. However, it’s always in the back of her mind that Eric is her best friend’s dad. But, after Savannah discovers Stacy has stolen her hot date – she decides to get revenge in the best possible way.

Eric’s attracted to Savannah too, and since he’s just been hurt badly he definitely needs a pick me up, so it’s not difficult for Savannah to seduce him. But it seems that once they start sleeping together, they can’t seem to stop! But can they end their affair without anyone finding out or getting hurt? Only time will tell…

I thought Stacy’s Dad Has Got It Going On was an excellent read. It’s smart, funny, sexy, well-written, and it all felt very real. Once I picked it up I didn’t want to put it down. It would have been very easy to make the whole friend’s dad scenario really sleazy and gross, but it wasn’t. Savannah is of legal age, and Eric is a free agent – there’s nothing illegal going on.

I really liked the characters and their depth, as well as the fact the story had interesting twists and turns. Also, the sex scenes are different and seriously hot. Overall, this is a real page turner, and one I enjoyed very much.
