Maggie Ryan has just come out of a bad relationship and has moved back home — Michigan’s Upper Peninsula — to get over it and move on with life. However, she returns to find that things have changed. Her best childhood friends, Quinn and Lucas Makwa, have grown up into stunningly gorgeous men, but they’re keeping secrets.

There’s always been chemistry between the three of them, but Maggie has always kept the boys at arm’s length as she could never choose between them. It seems that despite their secrets, though, Quinn and Lucas still want Maggie — and they want her to be with both of them. But they also know they’ll have to divulge their secret at some point — they can both shift into black bears at will.

There’s lots at stake. Will Maggie give into temptation with the men she’s always been attracted to? Can she be with both of them? If she does, how will she react when she finds out that the pair of them are shapeshifters? There’s only one way to find out…

Maggie’s Mates is a seriously hot novella from Bronwyn Green. It’s an excellent mix of storyline, characters and smokin’ hot sex. There’s history between the characters, and yet Bronwyn tells us what’s happening in the here and now, moving the story on and giving us just enough background to see how it impacts on the present. I found this a really enjoyable read — brilliant, likeable characters, a fascinating plot and some seriously steamy bedroom scenes. Delicious.
