When my son comes home after a “hard” day of preschool, there is nothing he likes more than to sit in the “daddy” chair and watch a little “manly” television. Nothing satisfies his need more than Bob the Builder and Thomas the Tank Engine.
With this in mind, I am happy for him to have the Action Pack 4 DVD Set put out by Hit! Entertainment and Lionsgate. It has two complete episodes of Thomas the Tank Engine (“Steamies vs. Diesels” and “Track Stars”); an episode of Bob the Builder (“Heavy Duty Diggers”); and an episode of Fireman Sam (“Help Is Here”), with which we are not as familiar.
In “Steamies vs. Diesels,” it comes as no surprise to those familiar with the show that the “steamies” and “diesels” are arguing about who is the more useful engine. Thomas must overcome his pride to come to the rescue when they need his help.
As usual, the trains are bustling here, there and everywhere, as fast as they can to get their work done in “Track Stars.” Thomas, Emily, Percy, and James must figure out if they can get their work done while being super speedy in this DVD.
Bob the Builder and his team have a new location in Harbor Town where they need to build a new ocean pier and turn an old shack into a surf school. Lofty, Scratch, Scoop, and Scrambler all learn that teamwork makes for good work as they deal with various scrapes and mishaps along the way.
Fireman Sam and his friends find new opportunities to make courageous rescues all over their town, Pontypandy. My son has been learning about fire safety along with the values of teamwork and friendship as he watches this DVD.
Because my son is one boy amidst a family with three girls, I’m happy for him to find something that is completely his. Even though the girls enjoy watching an occasional episode with him, he is the one who is an authority on Thomas trains and building and fire safety, thanks to this great DVD pack.
