Double Standard Part 5: Evidence Of Even More MSM Bias

Please Share...Tweet about this on Twitter0Share on Facebook0Share on Google+0Share on LinkedIn0Pin on Pinterest0Share on TumblrShare on StumbleUpon0Share on Reddit0Email this to someone

We have all heard about Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman. We have been treated, via the MSM, to everything said by Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton. We even found out than an NBC news producer doctored a 9-1-1 call tape in an attempt to make Zimmerman sound like a racist. NBC News President Steve Capus told Reuters, “…it was determined that the person had cut the video clip down to meet a maximum time requirement for the length of the segment and inadvertently edited the call in a way that proved misleading.” Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuure. If you believe that, I have the deed to a certain NYC bridge in which you may be interested.

We do not have any clear audio evidence that Zimmerman uttered a racial slur as is still maintained. Nor do we yet have clear evidence, by voice analysis, confirming who was calling for help in an apparent fight on an audio tape. But we do know that NBC News altered a transcript of the 9-1-1 call.

The MSM started its misrepresentation with an out-of-date photo that suggested Martin at the moment of his death was a tiny preteen But he was a 6’2″ 17-year-old. Given that the alleged crime happened in 2012 when Martin was 17, it might have been more responsible for the MSM to publish a current photograph. Further, Martin was suspended from school for drugs, as well as possessing a burglary tool.

We also got this little nugget from the MSM: white Hispanic. Just what is a “white Hispanic,” and what does that have to do with anything? Although it normally does not use such terminology for people of mixed ancestry (Barack Hussein Obama being a good example), the MSM, when its narrative of white-on-black crime was endangered by information that Zimmerman had a Latino mother, came up with white Hispanic.

Despite loud MSM claims that a police video proved that Zimmerman did not have head injuries as described in the police report, careful analysis of the video shows a visible head injury on Zimmerman.

And now this. In an article titled “Black Male Shoots Unarmed Hispanic, Remains Free, Media Mum” we learn that at a Taco Bell in Phoenix, AZ, a black male, whose name has not been released, shot and killed Daniel Adkins, a Hispanic. A 22-year-old man and his girlfriend ordered food at the Taco Bell drivethrough and were told to pull up while their order was prepared. At the same time, Adkins stepped around a corner into the path of the vehicle. Angry words were exchanged between Adkins and the driver. They got into an altercation and Adkins was shot once by the driver. Adkins died at the scene. The driver, a 22-year-old black male, called police but has not been arrested. The couple claimed that Adkins had a metal pipe that he swung at them, but it turns out he was holding a dog leash with his yellow lab, Lady, on the leash. A metal pipe or bat was never located. Yet the driver is claiming self defense.

Adkins lived with his mother and father. He was 29, but his family says he was mentally disabled and has the mental capacity of a 12-year-old. He didn’t drive, and walked wherever he went.

“He needs to be behind bars. I’ll never see my brother again,” says Adkins’ sister Marina Reyes. “If he felt that my brother was threatening him, he could have easily just rolled up the window and called the cops.” She continued, “So he’s saying self defense, then where’s the weapon? Where’s the pipe? They didn’t find anything on my brother.”

My questions are: (1) Where are the New Black Panther Party, the Congressional Black Caucus, Spike Lee, Jesse Jackson, and Al Sharpton on this one? Is not Adkins dead? Was he not shot? (2) Where is the MSM on this one? Where is NBC? (3) Does Adkins’ mental capacity enter into this situation? Why have Jackson and Sharpton not questioned what angry words a mentally disabled Hispanic could say?

Can I conclude that since the crime committed was “black-on-white Hispanic” rather than “white Hispanic-on-black,” the New Black Panther Party, the Congressional Black Caucus, Spike Lee, Jackson, Sharpton, MSM, and NBC will not find this interesting and ignore it? Please cite sources of evidence of New Black Panther Party, the Congressional Black Caucus, Spike Lee, Jackson, Sharpton, MSM, or NBC interest.

In both cases, the best course would be to show patience, to carefully examine ALL evidence available. Is that what happened in Sanford, FL? Noo. The MSM has again embarrassed itself, and the black activist leadership, in and out of government, has demagogued the Martin case while ignoring the Adkins case, alienated the country, and set back racial relations for some time. And Obama weighed in on the Martin case in an utterly incoherent fashion. Would Obama’s other son look like Adkins?

But that’s just my opinion.

Warren, do you think anyone cares what Spike Lee, NBC, or the others have to say? I’m not sure anyone does.

    June 12, 1852,

    My Dear Mrs. Beatty,
I regret to inform you that we again will not be able to promote young Warren to the sixth grade due to the poor grades he has scored on the homework he has been turning in. We lament this as it is the third year in a row, but we feel that the integrity of our school curriculum and reputation for educational excellence must come ahead of how much we’ve come to know and love dear Warren.

We have done as much as we can for your child and it is the staff consensus that, sadly we no longer try.

Our staff has suggested you try any one of several special-needs facilities in the area equipped with the psychological and emotional support you son so obviously requires. Unfortunately our school lacks such support needs, however we stand by here at your beckon call should any questions arise.

Perhaps a nearby local trade school in the area where he could learn to make rebel flags for sale, or perhaps a facility that cuts holes in white sheets as Halloween and parade costumes. I understand a factory will be opening soon where discarded tar products are converted into children’s toys will soon be opening in the area.

As always, we share your repeated concerns for your special son’s needs.

    Yours in Christ,
    Walnut Grove Parochial School

Re: comment # 1, Baroius, I agree with you. However, the MSM and “Justice Brothers” and Spike Lee and CBC and NBPP pick and choose what incidences to pursue. Hypocricy? And all they do is make a fool of themselves.

Re: comment # 3, Jet, still at it, I see. Can you offer ANY refutation of what I said in the article? You claim to be, after all, “the research department.” Or is this going to be yet another comment you ignore since you cannot/will not specifically address the issue?

  • Glenn Contrarian

    Warren –

You DO realize, of course, that NBC unceremoniously fired the guy who edited the Zimmerman tape, right? Oh? You mean Fox News didn’t tell you that?

Oh, I forgot – Fox News has the duty to tell you whatever will make you hate lib’ruls and to NOT tell you when we hold our own accountable. AND Fox News is mandated to tell you when Matt Drudge and Andrew Breitbart (when he was alive) broadcast videos and audios by James O’Keefe about shocking liberal scandals (and how people were quickly fired because of them), and to NOT tell you that O’Keefe’s audios and videos were much more maliciously and deliberately edited than the NBC recordings ever were.

Just keep watching that Fox News so you can be convinced of just how evilevilevil those lib’ruls are, and whatever you do, DON’T check to see if Fox News is giving you the whole story, even though so very often they don’t.

  • http://jetsgayheadlinenews-jet.blogspot.com/ Jet Gardner-The Principal is your pal

Sorry kid, you’re no longer worth bothering with-you refuse to see anyone else’s point of view by your own narrow worldview.

I listen to all points of view and make an informed decision… I’m a liberal. You listen to only one and everyone else’s is wrong unless they agree with you.

Conversation with someone who only uses the mouthpiece on his phone and not the earpiece is useless and a waste of time.

You and Baronius make a cute couple

  • http://rwno.limewebs.com Warren Beaty

Re: comment # 5, Glenn, you say, “You DO realize, of course, that NBC unceremoniously fired the guy who edited the Zimmerman tape, right?” Yes. So? Does him getting fired in any way justify his actions?

    Re: comment # 6, Jet, as expected, a cop-out.

  • http://jetsgayheadlinenews-jet.blogspot.com/ Jet Gardner

    I rest my case

  • Glenn Contrarian

    Warren –

Incredible – the guy was fired, which obviously sends out a hard message to his fellow employees about what will happen if they do the same thing…and that means NOTHING to you. I guess that’s why it doesn’t matter to you about the almost-daily obfuscations and manipulations by Fox News (as shown in the link I provided you), because holding someone accountable for what they do wrong makes no sense to you.

    And Warren,

here’s a PRIME EXAMPLE of that MSM bias you’re describing.

  • http://frivolousdisorder.com/ Frivolous D

“Re: comment # 5, Glenn, you say, “You DO realize, of course, that NBC unceremoniously fired the guy who edited the Zimmerman tape, right?” Yes. So? Does him getting fired in any way justify his actions?”

Q.E.D.!!! Warren, Magnificent. Bravo! A staggeringly nuanced rebuttal. Kudos.

Glenn, I’m afraid you’ve been mated by Warren’s brilliant reinterpretation of Wittgenstein’s solipsistic statement “If a lion could speak English, we wouldn’t understand him.”

Warren, you have forwarded a truly impermeable argument.

  • Clav

Fox News has the duty to tell you whatever will make you hate lib’ruls…

Actually, FOXNews, like all commercial media, ONLY “has a duty” to make money for its owners; and since its principal owner, Rupert Murdoch, is particularly adept at identifying and exploiting the most lucrative media markets, FOX makes beaucoup money for its owners, as do almost all of Murdoch’s holdings.

  • roger nowosielski

A liberal such as FD citing Wittgenstein? What’s this world coming to?

  • Keith Barnes

Actually Roger I can think of two Wittgenstein quotes just off the top of my head that apply to Warren

“A man will be imprisoned in a room with a door that’s unlocked and opens inwards; as long as it does not occur to him to pull rather than push.”

    and

“A serious and good philosophical work could be written consisting entirely of jokes.”

  • Kyle Hunter

Well if we’re going to go that far, why not throw Winston Churchill into the mix with, “A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.”

  • roger nowosielski

Except that letting fly off the battle is good advice not only for Warren but his mortal opponents.

  • Keith Barnes

Ah, it’s better to ignore a misbehaving child than to encourage it by paying attention?

  • Kyle Hunter

Nah, good ol Witt summed Warren up with “Knowledge is in the end based on acknowledgement.” Until he learns to do that he’ll forever be ignorant.

  • Keith Barnes

Oh Ho! I shall call your raise sir, and up the pot with Edward G. Bulwer-Lytton

“A fool flatters himself, a wise man flatters the fool.”

  • Kyle Hunter

Of course Warren has no idea what or whom we’re talking about, so he won’t respond in kind, but instead will favour us with something ignorant of whether we are staying on topic or not.

    Which goes without saying.

  • Keith Barnes

    Indeed

  • http://rwno.limewebs.com Warren Beaty

Re: comments # 9, 10, and 12-20, all: It’s good to see that y’all are sticking to the librul script: the article nor it’s premise can be refuted, so attack the author. It has worked for James Carville for years, so why not try it here?

  • Keith Barnes

Bullseye! & Bloody Hell! you nailed that one Kyle-kudos.

Re: comments # 22 and 23, Keith and Kyle, y’all can slap each other on the back all y’all want, but that still doesn’t change the fact that y’all have yet to offer ANYTHING of substance about the article or its premise.

  • Keith Barnes

    Consider this, the fool can’t even spell his own last name-Observe comments 4,7 % 21! It’s – B E A T T Y – dear boy with two “T”s. Jet Gardner was right in comment two-ha ha gufhaaa

  • Kyle Hunter

He still can’t! Look at 24!

  • http://rwno.limewebs.com Warren Beatty

Re: comment # 25, Keith, thanks for pointing that out – I missed it. But my remarks in comment # 24 are STILL true.

  • Kyle Hunter

I consider it folly to match witts with an unarmed man dear boy, so I hall leave you alone for the time being.

  • Keith Barnes

Thanks to Roger, whose quote inspired this frivolous and enjoyable banter.

  • Glenn Contrarian

    Keith –

“A fool flatters himself, a wise man flatters the fool.”

I like that! But does that mean that the Republican politicians who once vilified Romney are wise men now that they are flattering him?

  • Keith Barnes

No, it means they’re fools. After all is it more foolish to allow yourself to be led by a fool, or to follow one. Especially if hs has ones Apostles that can’t even spell their own last names!

  • Keith Barnes

Albert Einstein once said, “A question that sometimes drives me hazy: am I or are the others crazy?”

Warren seems to have that problem.

Based on this piece, there seems to be more of a case for Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Trayvon Martin’s parents having double standards than for the media having them.

For instance, the only evidence offered by the Fox Nation article entitled “Black Male Shoots Unarmed Hispanic, Remains Free, Media Mum” is… the title. There is not one single word in the article itself regarding (the lack of) media coverage of the incident.

I also find it ironic that the subject of the Time article Warren links to as a citation for why Trayvon Martin was suspended from school is the question of whether youngsters like him are demonized for something almost everybody does at some time in their lives.

Remember, also, that Trayvon was shot on February 26th. It was not until March 14th, after the Sanford police concluded their inquiries and decided that they would not be bringing charges, that the Martin family went public and the solid waste came into contact with the air circulation device. And we are just now hearing about the Daniel Adkins case – in about the same timeframe.

(And the Adkins incident, it should be noted, happened in Arizona, a state in which nobody holding a gun can do wrong. Especially if there is a Latino on the receiving end of it.)

  • ST Y’all M

I’ve just realised what the issue is for me in regard to discourse with Warren.

First of all, in Oz, anyone named Warren is known as “Wazza”. A name like that you’d tend to associate with people who like V8s (not that there’s anything wrong with V8s, but it’s the HOW, WHERE, WHY and the WAY you like ‘em that counts).

Wazza likes nice rumbling V8s built by Ford or Holden, in a different way to the way someone might like a BMW V8.

Wazza doesn’t say Y’all, but if there’s an Aussie equivalent (and there is it’s “Youse”), Wazza would most likely be saying it.

And that’s the other thing: how can any bastard take seriously a bloke who writes: “Y’all can pat y’all on the back”.

See, youse are all wastin’ yer time with Wazza, he’s a seppo bogan.

  • ST Y’all, Youse, Hussein M

    G’day,

Here’s some cars that any Wazza, the soft-c.ck hatin’ Aussie version of Warren, and our own prolific librul-hatin’ BC version, Warren the Seppo (seppo = a shortened version of the rhyming-slang term for a Yank), might like:

The Holden SS V8 Redline Ute (that’s pronounced yoot, as in shoot, appropriately, short for “Utility”)

The Ford Falcon XR8 V8 Ute, or the XR6 Turbo, which also goes like the clappers and is built to last on Aussie roads.

Now, there’s nothing wrong with these slabs of 100 per cent pure Aussie beef and they’re a lot sportier than a US- or Jappo- or Korean-made Seppo pick-up truck, but both these come in around US$50,000.

    That’s fair-dinkum a housing deposit in America.

In Australia, they’re the blue-collar favourite of the tradesman, most of whom, it being a different political environment, wouldn’t be quite as right wing as our Seppo Warren; they’d believe in paying less tax (even getting a very decent tax claim on one of these fine vehicles if they use it as their principal for work), and possibly gun ownership for shootin’ roos and pigs, but they’d still like their universal health care, thanks very much.

They wouldn’t be Republicans though, because most of them are conservatives and they love Her Maj and her new daughter-in-law and her new daughter in law’s sister.

I’ve also included a couple of cars Seppo Warren probably wouldn’t like:

The Hyundai Getz, which is really a sheila’s car for running around the city and best used by budding liberal-minded interior designers.

No use whatsoever to a real man on the periphery of the city who needs to get around to construction sites at breakneck speed.

While Ute drivers would think it was poxy, it’s still great value as a town drive and comes in around the $US20,000 ($AU18,000) in Australia, mainly because it’s made by those poor buggers overseas (no, NOT America – Korea, silly!), which also makes it more affordable for all those Americans who keep moving here for a better life and are taking a big hit on the exchange rate (thanks to George and the GFC and his pea-and-thimble trick mates on Wall Street).

Then there’s one of them poofy French numbers. You can smell the stale Gitanes and cheap aftershave from 50 yards away. But there’s no disputing it’s got some Frog style.

The turbo diesel goes like the clappers in mid-range torque and isn’t bad for getting out of town with the guns or the camping gear in the back – kind of a Frog version of the urban cowboy – but since Seppo Warren is unlikely to like anything made by those stinkin’, garlic-chewin’ commo-minded Frenchies, I’m calling the excellent Peugeot 308 Wagon, not a nancy-boy French car, but a FREEDOM car!

    Y’know, like them Freedom Fries.

In case anyone’s wondering why I posted this. Well, youse need to think about it. And youse wouldn’t need to be rocket surgeons to work it out.

It makes more sense than any of the bullsh.t Seppo Warren’s ever written on here, and it might be a tad more entertaining too what with the pretty pictures and all!

Take care Y’all. I love youse all. Youse take it easy, and I hope youse like me bonza aussie cars and the poxy foreign ones too!

And a big “How ya goin'” to all me Septic and Pom mates on the other side of the big blue pond!

Stay out of the soup kitchens.

  • ST Y’all, Youse, Hussein M

Also, if any of youse like Warren are struggling to get a decent feed over there in America because of the current state of the US economy, let me know and I’ll send over a nice GFC care package. You can go the chilled option: Some nice big chilled steaks you can throw on the campfire, some fresh fresh fruit and vegies and some treats, like chocloate and stuff, that you can eat later in the tent.

Also, as I’ll have saved you from having to eat your pets, I’ll thrown in a separate dog-food parcel.

  • http://www.passionoftruth.blogspot.com Pam Messingham

Warren, you aren’t getting it. You can’t fire up anyone with a half of a brain by injecting racism where there simply isn’t any. Where you bash Sharpton and Jackson you probably praise their white counterparts: Rush and Newt. Your “primise” is worthless. You are trying to gather support for racism. Intelligent people realize all people are people and we don’t waste our time talking about race or trying to create racist issues where there aren’t any.

Re: comment # 38, Doc, you say, “For instance, the only evidence offered by the Fox Nation article entitled “Black Male Shoots Unarmed Hispanic, Remains Free, Media Mum” is… the title. There is not one single word in the article itself regarding (the lack of) media coverage of the incident.” Yes, you are correct about the article I cited not having word about lack of MSM coverage. But did I not ask for ANY citations in my article? So far, I have received exactly – zero. Not even one from you, Doc. So, can you prove me or Fox wrong? Can you cite MSM coverage? Inquiring minds want to know.

You continue, “I also find it ironic that the subject of the Time article Warren links to as a citation for why Trayvon Martin was suspended from school is the question of whether youngsters like him are demonized for something almost everybody does at some time in their lives.” Two questions. (1) Do you deny that Martin possessed BOTH marijuana and burglar tools? (2) Do you have a source (even one) that backs up your assertion that “almost everyone” has possessed marijuana and burglar tools?

You continue, “(And the Adkins incident, it should be noted, happened in Arizona, a state in which nobody holding a gun can do wrong. Especially if there is a Latino on the receiving end of it.)” Will you please tell me what relevance that statement has in regard to my article premise?

Re: comments # 39 – 41, STM, Will you please tell me what relevance your comments have in regard to my article premise? Or is that some (great) Aussie beer speaking?

Re: comment # 42, Pam, you say, “You can’t fire up anyone with a half of a brain by injecting racism where there simply isn’t any.” Please re-read the article. Not one word was said about racism. I simply pointed out the hypocricy of all involved by focusing on one case but not the other. And the last time I looked, hypocricy and racism are two entirely different concepts.

Re: comment # 43, Kyle, I’m glad to see that you are sticking to the librul script.

  • http://www.passionoftruth.blogspot.com Pam Messingham

Sorry, I disagree. When you use Barracks middle name that is a form of racism, insinuating “muslim” not even Arabic culture. Maybe you don’t even realize you do it, but that is how the reader reads it. I don’t know you, but I see you as a racist just by your terms. You are saying it’s “hypocricy” but yet it’s hypocricy built on race. If that wasn’t the case you wouldn’t have ever used the appropriate terms to identify each member. The fact is someone was needlessly killed in both situations, why not focus on that instead of the race issue. As for Trayvon, did you grow up in a cave? First of all he didn’t have drug possession, he had an empty baggy. He was 17 for pete’s sake. In todays world a baggy and a debit card could be drugs and burglery tools. The facts you seem to forgetting about Trayvon was it was almost totally dark and rainy…he was being stalked by a creeper…he had every right to bash Zimmermans head in. I don’t know about you, but I raise my kids to be aware of stranger danger. The facts are Trayvon was walking home, talking on his cell to his girlfriend, and he knew he was being stalked by some weirdo that was following him, first in a car, then on foot. He tried to run, but Zimmerman pursued. Dinner for Dahmer probably wasn’t on Trayvon’s agenda for the evening.

But did I not ask for ANY citations in my article? So far, I have received exactly – zero. Not even one from you, Doc. So, can you prove me or Fox wrong? Can you cite MSM coverage?

Well, the Google news search I did for “Daniel Adkins” came up with seven results, not all from sources I would call mainstream, and most of which are local. There’s this one from the local CBS affiliate, this one from the local ABC station, this one from Fox and this one from the Tucson Citizen.

While I do expect that this won’t end up being as big a story as the Martin case (the media are fickle and easily bored), as I said it is early days; and several of the linked stories do say that the police investigation hasn’t been concluded yet.

Out of curiosity, I did a customized news search on Google for “Trayvon Martin” for the date range February 26th to March 14th – the period between the shooting and when the story went global. Oddly enough, I got a grand total of… seven results.

  • Glenn Contrarian

    Oh, Warren –

Here’s another fabrication by oh-so-fair-and-balanced Fox News.

Maybe that’s what I should do – every time you go publishing an article with this claptrap, I’ll start posting the latest dozen or so Fox News Fabrications…or I can just choose from a list of thousands!

  • Glenn Contrarian

But for the next couple of weeks, you won’t see much of me – I’ll be in the land of dial-up internet access….

  • Deano

I’m not sure why anyone would be surprised that one case is blown up in the media while other, potentially similar cases have not.

This is par for the course where the national media is concerned. Not every murder hits all the media “hot buttons”. As was noted, the media tends to serve itself above all – pulling out specific cases in a very selective manner and over-hyping them as a issue and a ratings draw.

Last year it was the “child murdering party girl”, this year it is the “case fraught with the racial divisions that fracture America”, next year – who kows? The tropes they grab onto aren’t necessarily wrong but when you want to explain why one case rises to national attention and CNN Investigative specials while the other lingers in relative obscurity in the local papers, this is the reason. The Trayvon case has “legs”, it has media traction, it generates interest, polarizes viewers and draws political attention. All that equates to viewership. There are dozens of more heinous crimes that, in all probability, are assessed on an ongoing basis by hungry reporters and television producers, with the majority being discarded (thecase was solved, the case doesn’t involve sex, money, race or other hotbutton issues, none of the principals invovled are good-looking etc.).

Out of that pool of stories, a handful are deemed worthwhile of more in-depth interest and coverage locally, and then of those a smaller handful rise to the level of national coverage, and, a few itmes a year, you get a case like Trayvon’s that is, for lack of a better, more cynical term, a superstar.

And then the media frenzy starts.

How is any of this a shocking surprise. It’s not justice or journalism on display right now, just ratings and money.

  • ST “Y’all” Hussein M

Me Beat-y asks: “STM, Will you please tell me what relevance your comments have in regard to my article premise?”

    None. Both are complete dribble.

I thought that since you insist on posting complete and utter gibberish on these threads, I’d return the favour. Mine has better pictures though.

  • http://www.squidoo.com/lensmasters/IanMayfield Dr Dreadful

A point I missed in my earlier response to Warren:

Do you have a source (even one) that backs up your assertion that “almost everyone” has possessed marijuana and burglar tools?

Well, I admit I was being a bit hyperbolic with the marijuana bit. According to recent US government statistics, the percentage of people who’ve ever tried it is a bit over 40% – about the same percentage as report thinking about sex more than once a week… horrors! And that’s just the people who admit using it.

As far as “burglary tools” are concerned, I must confess that I, personally, possess just such a tool as the one Trayvon Martin is said to have had in his possession (although not on the evening of the shooting). It’s sitting in a box about 15 feet from where I’m sitting, and is about 8″ long with a hard plastic handle and a long, thin, tempered steel blade.

    It’s a screwdriver.

I don’t think anybody has bothered to collect statistics on how many people own one of these demonic weapons, but I suspect that it is, in fact, the vast majority of households.
