Two of my absolute favorite bands in the metal genre currently, Damageplan, featuring former Pantera members Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul, and Shadows Fall, are preparing to hit the road for a co-headlining tour with another solid metal heavy hitter, The Haunted, handling opening duties. Damageplan and Shadows Fall both recently commented on the upcoming jaunt which begins on October 27th, and will run through December 9th.
Commented Shadows Fall singer Brian Fair: “We are very excited to be a part of this tour. I have been a huge fan of both Dime and Vinnie’s playing for years and it will be an honor to share the stage with them. After watching the old Pantera home videos, I know that both my liver and my sanity are in for a brutal time! I can’t wait. Bottoms up!” Added guitarist Jon Donais: “I can’t wait to hit the road this fall. Not only do we get to share the stage with some great bands but I get to tour with a guitarist who has had a huge influence on my playing (Dimebag). Hopefully my liver survives this tour because it’s going to be a hell of a run. See everyone on tour.”
Damageplan drummer Vinnie Paul had this to say regarding the trek: “It’s time for more devastation from Damageplan. I hate being at home and this tour is long overdue. The horses are now revved, so look out. Shadows Fall is without a doubt one of the top metal bands out there today and I know this bill is going to kill from top to bottom. See ya there.”
Confirmed tourdates for the tour so far:
Oct. 27 – Masquerade – Atlanta, GA
Nov. 17 – Ogden Theatre – Denver, CO
Nov. 19 – The Quest – Minneapolis, MN
