Feature: Interviews From The Edge

Tricia Weight (A Geek Girl) grew up with a mother in the record business. Eva Wood proved her mettle in a male-dominated business, being nominated as Record Promoter of the Year twice by Pop Music Survey and winning the award in 1985. She worked in radio promotion for EMI/UA, A&M Records and eventually became the V.P. of Field Promotion for Curb Records, launching artists like Tim McGraw, JoDee Messina, and Sawyer Brown into stardom.

Over the years Eva introduced Tricia to many celebrities: Sting and The Police, Styx, Peter Frampton, Bryan Adams, 38 Special, Jefferson Starship, Gene Simmons, Kenny Rogers... just to name a few. She found that her daughter had an aptitude for listening, a passion for studying people, and a curiosity about the creative process of artists from all genres. She also found that Tricia was growing into a writer; obviously a talent that she helped nurture. Currently, Eva is creating a new life for herself in the arts by delving into painting, photography, and her own writing.

Eva encouraged and guided her daughter's passion with words of wisdom like, "This is work, it's not supposed to be fun ... Smart girls get interviews, groupies do not..always be professional ... No short skirts ... No chewing gum," and finally, "Don't talk with food in your mouth."

In Interviews From The Edge, Tricia allows artists to share their influences, their projects, and anything else they feel passionately about. They are the voices; she, merely their amanuensis —

Welcome to The Edge.
