Mouthy Diva, (affectionately known to Blogritics as Mac Diva, aka Holy Macaroni) has made certain derogatory slurs about me (et al) at this post. This all came about when I came to the defense of a newcomer to Blogcritics who was being abused by none other than - (you guessed it) Mouthy Diva.
There was a time a comment like that would have upset me. But as the saying goes when one considers the source of the slur (and if I may paraphrase) where is thy sting?
As most of you know Mouthy Diva has a nasty habit of terrorizing Blogcritics with her racist slurs, and like most of you I have not been immune from her incessant name calling. Her rhetoric resounds to Tinkling Cymbals and Sounding Brass as she bellows around Blogcritics with the mistaken notion that she can slur anybody with impunity that happens to disagree with her.
And so I have decided to make this challenge. Alright Mouthy Diva, let's put it to a vote. As ludicrous as it may sound, if the general consensus is that I fall into that category then I will voluntarily leave Blogcritics. If however Mouthy Diva is the BIGOT that we all know she is then I challenge her to leave BC (for good this time) and put an end to her perverse caterwauling.
So who is the REAL Bigot around here? Fellow Blogcritics please speak up! (Voters must be age 18 or over and own a valid IP address).

Pathetic! This is supposed to be a blog entry? Bumbling Buffoon's brown-nosing of David Yeagley last week was bad enough, but now he has lost what little mind he has ever had.

Ouch! Mouthy Diva, please stop voting for yourself. That's cheating :-)
And besides, you are obviously not bright enough to realize you are only making my point for me. Take some good advice and quit while you're behind.

okay.
is there any prize associated with this?
any wagering going on?
whoever is chosen the "biggest bigot" and they are unable to fulfill their duties as such, the first runner up "second biggest bigot" shall continue to reign.
if the "biggest bigot" chooses to pose nude in playboy/playgirl, this will disqualify them, as this would bring shame on the bigot community.
the winner of the contest will have a chance to appear on "the jack e. jett show” and a possible date with doris roberts from "everybody loves raymond".
best of luck to you all
jack e. jett.

Where's Slash?

Malmsteen? What about Ted Nugent?

I'm still waiting Mouthy Diva. Are you going to make a "substantive" effort to back up your allegations? I'm all pins and needles and just in the mood. Speak now and put your foot in it and let the world know the fraud that you are, or forever shut your hole.

Sorry, Bloke, but you should think of this as the kitchen, and the heat has just been turned up.
Your move.

This trashy episode is so typical. Mouthy Diva peruses the posts to make her infamous hit and run smear campaigns and then vanishes into the ethernet only to raise her ugly head another day. What is even more astonishing is that she could utter anything at all from her vile 'Mouth' with that big foot of hers in it so I will waste little time on this. Here is the link that she refers to. Any reasonable person that is not full of vomit and vinegar and with some semblance of intelligence can see there is no merit to her defamatory allegation. The fact is Mr. Yeagley was a racist and I told him so. He was courteous in his response so I reciprocated - a trait that MD would be well served to emulate.
Accusing me of 'brown'-nosing? Just another racist comment I can only presume. If anybody can be called a racist it would be Madame Holier than thou Macaroni, and if she wants to get into it I will be more than happy to discuss her degenerate record in greater detail. That is problematic however because there is so much material available, the difficulty therein would be deciding where to begin.
I could think of any number of superlatives that would barely do her justice. But why reinvent the wheel? I will let her fan club speak for itself.

BB- Steady. The beauty of Blogcritics is that you actually get cats and dogs living together. Do you really want to eliminate the prime source of unintentional comedy from our number? I personally look forward to the Queeg-like meltdowns and condescension, you can't make that shit up. She's not going anywhere, she's got nowhere else to go, so buck up and accept it for what its worth. Sure, it gets irritating, never getting the last word, but you're a parent, I'm certain you've been throught that with a five year old. Oh, and she does have a kick ass vocabulary.
In fontina's name...

"Queeg-like meltdowns... and a kick ass vocabulary"
That is if you consider predictable cliche and degenerate epigrams entertaining :-)

I vote for....
"...Queeg-like meltdowns and condescension..."
Oh, wait. I thought this was the "Marketing Mac" Contest.
"Who ate the strawberries? The ignorant RACIST sock-puppet! That's who!"
When I first came here (a few days ago), I didn't realize that Mac was so infamous. It only took a few reads to figure it out.
Man, she's not only infamous, SHE'S *LEGENDARY.
*google
But I'm with Joe on this one: Do you really want to eliminate the prime source of unintentional comedy from our number?
Not me. Besides: I love reading cut and pasted 'news' articles sprinkled with bland, unoriginal 'commentary' that states the obvious.
Here's my entry for best Marketing Campaign for Mac Diva:
"Types More. Says Less."
examples:
Mac writes about:
1) Hip-hop: "The inanity of the lyrics, which often focus on hallucinogens, 'hos' and homicide, leaves something to be desired, too. The other aspect of hip hop culture that has left me ambivalent is its ongoing relationship with violence."
A 'Vanilla Ice' fan just woke up in the 21st century.
2)On Contemporary Politics: "The most significant change in American political scene during the last decades was the emergence of the GOP's Southern Strategy. It encouraged the exodus of working and middle-class white Americans from the Democratic Party to the Republican Party. That in turn, resulted in conservative dominance of federal politics. The GOP has also increased its share of governorships and other state offices."
A Junior High history teacher explains America to Rip Van Winkle.
3) On the cultural implications of Janet Jackson (titled: "What about the bling-bling"---i know, i know, don't laugh...): "Sometimes, I suspect I'm being naive not to realize everything in America...is about money. ...I had almost convinced myself Jackson is the loser in this episode -- what with the FCC investigation, sneers from some peers and being dumped by the Grammy people. But, if the Super Bowl stunt rejuvenates her career, as it appears it may, she will surely have won more than she has lost."
Without this simplistic, condescending explanation, ya never would have known that titty thing was a marketing ploy, would ya, America?
4) On "Advice" to Bloggers (in a thinly veiled attack on the Shark): "I believe it is like any other endeavor in that a person [ed. note: me] should learn what blogs are and do before attempting to have one."
This post is filled with ironies: her 'essay' style is an example of exactly why I crticize her; and she's 'lecturing' someone whose blog career is preceded by decades as a professional writer: Me.
5) On the FCC and Language: "What is considered acceptable language changes over time and by context."
Quick! E-mail Alfred Korzybski! He's gonna wanna read this!
=================================
I could go on and on, but I'll spare you any more of her "insights".
But if this condescending, delusional, self-loathing, victim-poseur windbag keeps jackin' with the Shark... I might have to get serious.
heh.
Don't forget: cast your vote for:
"TYPES MORE---SAYS *LESS!"
*contains less than 1gm carbohydrates and original thoughts

Check out my comment #3 in "Bling Bling"
For growing evidence of *Mac's "inspiration" when it comes to her garrulous, ubiquitous Blogcritic cultural insights.
*she says she's a journalist: could it be Jayson Blair using a psuedonym?
17 - Shark
Mac on her own...sorta
Compare that with this example of our Mac writing on the fly without the bricks of a cut/paste news story to hold together the glue of her random thoughts.
It's rambling, disjointed, and pretty darn pointless.
But dammit, IT'S GETTIN' READ by the public!
Feh.

I'm torn between pitying her or disgusted to the point of vomiting. Anybody with such a fixation on "white" people and sees everything through colored spectacles has a serious problem. As for her alleged credentials - ie being a pseudo lawyer / slash / pseudo journalist, I have serious doubts about either. She couldn't win an argument based on logic or common sense if her life depended on it. So she make baseless accusations of racism and disappears into the ethernet. It is cybernet terrorism at its worst. Talk about the kettle calling the pot black. Sad, so very, very sad.
The point of this post was to make a stand and shame her out of the blogosphere once and for all. If anything, it has at least proven that nobody takes her seriously and I hope for her sake she gets the message. But if she is as dense as she appears...
19 - Eric Olsen
I don't like the tone of this: I understand people feeling picked upon, abused, etc, and I agree that some people, including Mac Diva, can be very personal and cutting in their attacks, none of which I like. But setting up an all or nothing, she or me, unambiguous ultimatum in a post can come to no good.
No one is perfect, but Mac Diva is an excellent and regular contributor and Blogcritics would be a lesser place without her on many levels. And I disagree with the dismissal of her insights and writing talents - hers are far above the norm. Nor do I wish BB to be driven away. This post has set up a false dichotomy.
This is the home of dogs and cats living together as Joe said - there is inherent and inevitable conflict under such an arrangement and we will have to live with such. But I would like to see everyone treated with respect AND THE ASSUMPTION OF GOOD WILL until proven otherwise.
I would like to see the mediator return to mediating.
20 - BB
Eric, I take no enjoyment in attacking anybody. I believe in edification - not destruction. Nevertheless, I have been shamelessly attacked by Mac Diva and have no choice but to defend myself and let the facts speak for itself. This post was her opportunity to prove me wrong, or for lack of a better word forever shut her blow hole.
If you think I like the "tone" of this post then think again Eric. But it seems to me you have made more virulent attacks than I, and if you want to publicly ridicule somebody then kindly cast your incriminations at the perpetrator - aka Mac Diva. As the Shark states she is "LEGENDARY" in the blogosphere. Nothing would make me happier than to "mediate" this matter, but she doesn't even have the good sense or character to back down or admit when she's wrong. At least Yeagley had manners. Before becoming a mediator I was a litigator second to none and the master of chagrin, and if she wants to get down and dirty I can compete with the best. If anything this serves notice that if she hasn't got the good sense to mind her words with yours truly then I will be waiting Mac Diva. You can count on it. Either way its her choice.
21 - Eric Olsen
I am sure I make virulent attacks, but not directly on fellow Blogcritics, with whom I am in this together. Belonging and contributing does confer a higher level of toleration, and the comments section is a much more informal arena than actual posts, even if the difference seems negiligible.
The only post we have ever censored on the site was one Blogcritic attacking another in a very personal manner, and that is an area we would like to stay away from. I am not talking about disagreements on matters of fact or opinion, but about direct personal confrontation of a negative manner.
Absolutely, everyone should feel free to defend themselves but I would very much prefer to not see the defense escalated beyond the perceived attack.
And this is not directed at you, but at the situation.
22 - BB
Thank you Eric and in theory I wholehearted agree. But the reality is BC has a very REAL problem with MD. She has a vile mouth - period. Just look at how all this started. She was abusing a newcomer to BC and all that I did was come to her defence. This lady "browngirl" was intelligent, articulate and would have made an excellent contribution to BC. Then the resident shrill showed up to abuse her and I would not be surprised if "browngirl" shakes the dust off her feet and not come back. There can be NO justification or excuse for Mac Diva. I hate to say it but sooner or later you are going to have to make a choice with MD. You will lose a lot of good Blogcritics around here if you don't bridle her vile mouth or get rid of her. She has proven the fact that she will not change so it comes down to one and only one choice. You know that is true because I am not the first to state this obvious fact. That is unfortunately the truth so kindly don't shoot the messenger.
23 - Eric Olsen
I don't have the sense that the situation is so Manichaean: people form ad hoc alliances on different topics that then dissolve with pretty constant fluidity. People do hold personal grudges, it is clear and unfortunate, but for the most part alliances are topic and policy-driven.
If we look only at the worst behavior - especially those with bad tempers such as myself - many of us would not come out looking too good.
And Browngirl is around today, I am happy to say.
24 - bhw
Shouldn't this conversation be taken offline? I know I've participated in a few heated comments threads, but if we want blogging in general and Blogcritics in particular to be taken seriously by a larger audience than ourselves, then I think these types of posts will have to stop.
Right now, I feel badly for Eric and Phillip and all the others who have invested so much in this site only to have a "family spat" broadcast on the front page.
I think if someone has a problem with another BC, s/he should take it up with "management" rather than take a vote to kick someone off the island. [I'm not exonerating myself, of course, as I ironically add to the thread I'm saying shouldn't be here in the first place.]
25 - Eric Olsen
I guess that's what I was trying to say in a very circuitous and verbose manner - thanks bhw.
