An excellent message of support:
Why Women Support President George W. Bush
Written by guest blogger Patti Dahlstrom of Babes for Bush.
________________________If you ask why women like President Bush, the reasons are probably parallel to why men like him. As one woman, I can tell you the reasons I like him.
George W. Bush loves and respects his mother, Barbara; he loves and respects his wife, Laura. According to Laura, his best friend is Condaleeza Rice, another strong, intelligent woman. He truly enjoys and admires strong women; he “gets” women and appreciates them, knowing their equal importance in the scheme of things. Women like this quality in him. This speaks to the strength of his spirit over ego.
George W. Bush is a man of his word. He has to make the tough decisions; still, he has stood by his principles. Even when it has not been popular, he has walked the road less traveled. When has it ever been popular to walk the higher road? An Atlanta radio host, Martha Zoller, said that he “means what he says and says what he means.” That’s George W. Bush, and that speaks to his courage over fear.
Some of his decisions have called for the ultimate sacrifice from our men and women in the military. This, I am sure, has been the most difficult of all his burdens to bear. When I spoke with President Bush at a fundraiser in March, I gave him a message from my nephew, a Marine Lieutenant. He was extremely concerned, sending a message in return expressing gratitude for my nephew’s service. President Bush feels deeply about each and every one who is serving, those we’ve lost and those still in peril. He is profoundly conscious of the Americans in uniform. This speaks to the weight his heart carries for the sake of all Americans and freedom in the world.
When you meet him, he understands that you might be nervous because he is the president, and he puts you at ease with his kindness. He knows it is not about him, the man, but the office of the presidency, which is overwhelming. This speaks to his understanding.

Nah, women fall for serial killers all the time. That'll be why.

ROTFL!
Just scribble out "Mission Accomplished" and write in "Bareback Sex"... :-p

I clicked on some of the pictures of members, on the babesforbush site. Now I'm kinda confused as to what a babe is.
7 - RJ
You? Confused about what an attractive woman is?
Shocked. I'm shocked. ;)

yet another definition you all keep changing.

Here's a clue:
Jenna Jameson is HOT.
"Ripley" from Alien is NOT.

Omigod, it reads like a freakin' Harlequin romance novel over there. Here's one woman's description of meeting Bush:
There he stood. Not quite as tall as I’d imagined, probably about six feet, still I was surprised by how handsome he was, much more so than in photos or on TV. As I glided toward him (I don’t remember walking), every thought I brought to share with him evaporated in his presence. I got about two feet from him, stopped, looked up at his gorgeous face, and said, “I love you.”
He reached out his hands to this childlike creature, gently pulled me toward him, and gave me a hug. It was the kind of hug you get from a family member who really loves you and hasn’t seen you in a while. Oddly enough, it felt familiar, and I felt safe with my cheek resting against his chest. It lasted for several seconds and then he said, “In that case, let’s get a really good picture of the two of us together.”
The needle on the unintentional comedy meter is PINNED!

yeah EWG. sigh. the initial point, that was missed wasn't so much who fits into the category of 'babe' or not, as much as it was just using the term babe. Is the political arena ready for a lobbying group with the word babe in it? Is there some Studs for Bush that perhaps gets a little less coverage? Looking at their website and seeing they are serious made it funnier, actually. I always thought women were offended by being referred to as babe, generically, or en masse. So it was surprising to see it in use.

Feminists hate the "babe" word. I doubt those women fall into that particular category.
It's kind of like when you go to one of those diners where the waitress calls all the guys "honey" (You want some more coffee, honey?). I doubt they would be offended if you answered them with a "sure thing, doll".

I think they're borrowing an idea from the gay community and taking back the term "babe"!
Or something.
16 - RJ
Oh, chicks love being called babe. It makes them feel young, and hot.
They don't like being called scag or cunt though. Or bush pig. Or red river hog. Or slut-bunny. Or too-ugly-to-be-a-hooker...
Some things, you learn the hard way...
17 - Evilwhiteguy
Of course, those waitresses probably aren't members of a lobbying organization, but my point was that not all women, even in these PC days, are offended by such terms.
18 - bhw
I think those "babes" have been watching too many daytime soaps.
19 - boomcrashbaby
So it's that small town community appeal factor? Babe implies appearance, and I don't see what appearance has to do with political leaning. You know what I mean? Blue Eyes for Kerry? Short Men for Bush? I guess it's just odd to see it in a political context.
20 - Evilwhiteguy
No luck finding "Studs for Bush", but I did find a guy named Studs Terkell who writes over at progressivetrail.org.
21 - boomcrashbaby
Oh, chicks love being called babe
Do babes love being called chicks?
22 - Evilwhiteguy
How about this?
23 - Evilwhiteguy
I wonder if Studs Terkell has offed his parents for naming him that? Man, that's a horrible moniker to have to carry around.
24 - bhw
Now, those are some BABES.
25 - RJ
"Do babes love being called chicks?"
These are pretty much synonyms.
I'm glad to be teaching you a little about women, BCB.
Your interest has me curious: Are you considering converting? :)
