Update For Writers and Writers to Be

Here is an update for writers. We are still open to new writers. Send me an email telling me who you are, your blog, your interests. Thanks..

What a tremendous success so far! In our first two days we've had over 14,000 hits and been linked by Slate, Slashdot, Daypop, Blogdex, Metafilter, Blogroots, Poynter, etc, etc. Thanks for all of your tremendous work, support, and help getting the word out. Please continue to help us get the word out.

We will be doing weekly interviews with industry people, artists, authors, etc. Please send in your recommendations.

Blogcritics is now opening up so that individual contributors such as yourself can post articles with no mediary, technical or editorial. The rules are few and the process is easy (especially if you've used Movable Type before).

Our Editorial Standards and Policies:

We don't want you to fit in any sort of mold, we want you to be as eccentric, personal, free, weird, freakish, bizarre, etc., etc., as you would like. We want you to treat this LIKE A BLOG. Go crazy, write whatever you want however you want, just find some way to tie it into an available CD or book.

Do be sure to be very careful with your spelling, and to make a resonable attempt at coherent sentence structure.

There are no deadlines, but if you are going to be a member, we'd like to see something at least once a month.

Any eventual revenue from sales through our Amazon links will help us to maintain Blogcritics and to recoup costs already put into building it. Additionally, when you include the ASIN, it allows us to automatically pull product shots and information for inclusion in your post. You are welcome to embed any sort of links within the body of your reviews, of course, and that includes links to
Amazon or any other associate programs that you personally benefit from, using your own associate ID, so long as you add the Blogcritics Amazon link at the bottom.

Please post your reviews on your own site as well (unless you really don't want to) and link to your post in Blogcritics. We will be sending out a Blogcritics icon shortly which we will ask you to post on your site.

Technical questions should go to Glenn Frazier
(blogcritic@glennfrazier.com); all other questions should go to Eric Olsen
(ericolsen@compuserve.com).

One final note:

Do to an overwhelming tidal wave of submissions in the days leading up to our launch, some reviews have yet to be posted. If you submitted a review and it hasn't shown up on Blogcritics, PLEASE POST IT YOURSELF. We apologize if this has caused you any inconvenience.
