Natalee Killed by Katrina
There will likely be no new information on the disappearance of Natalee Holloway for quite a while. Natalee's Mom did an amazing job of keeping the story on the front page.
It was her only hope.
For Natalee's disappearance is probably connected to a few Aruban "gentlemen" who were last seen with her.
It was a roller coaster of a true crime story. There were witnesses that were not witnesses. There were innocent men arrested on the mere word of the likely criminals. There were countless peaks in the action including duct tape with blond hair, bones, trash dumps, divers and infra-red imaging.
But this past week, the main suspect, Joran Vandersloot, will be starting college in the Netherlands.
Natalee's Mom knew it was over when Hurricane Katrina devoured an American city. Young Vandersloot's release from the Aruban jail was greeted with hardly a whisper as the media honed in on the disaster on the Gulf Coast.
Perhaps someday a decomposed body will wash up on the shores of Aruba. Perhaps a hiker will stumble across human bones.
Until that happens, we'll likely hear no more about the missing American tourist and the punk kid who got away with it.
Remember this next time you make vacation plans.

Children Found Caged in Ohio Home
More bureaucrats not doing their job.
Okay, go with me on this. Nine children taken into foster care and for three years they've lived in cages. Who was checking up on this?
It is my understanding that the children were taken in from other localities and not Clarkfield Township where the couple live.
