Todd Lynn, the Hot 97 Morning Show co-host who helped record the "Tsunami Song" and was heard joking on air "I'm gonna start shooting Asians," was interviewed by over the phone and on IM by two blogs (see the Hiphopmusic.com and Trickology.com interviews.)
In the interviews he continually claims that he was taken out of context and worries that anything he says in the future will be similarly minconstrued.
My advice to Todd? Get a blog!
Todd, on a blog you can create your own context that no one can "take you out of," plus you can refute all of these over-sensitive Asians who may have been offended by your song. Don't they know you "have family who are Asian"?
Other benefits of having a blog are:
- No secondary mics that flicker in and out
- No Korean American co-host whistle blowers
- No racist producers who force you to record songs
- Automatic RSS feeds
What's there to lose?

Out of context? Unfortunately, he was on the air at the time. What happened to "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all?"

Turned out that policy wasn't entertaining.
