It didn't really even look like a shove to me...it just looked like two people getting a bit tangled up.
As for who's better, I might grant that Kelly has a stronger voice, but not by much. I've seen Avril live, and her voice sounds great. What makes me like Avril more than Kelly is that Kelly's got no personality at all. Avril's going to be around in 30 years, because she's goo, and because everybody's got an opinion about her.
