Theme Park Review (LA): Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights - Page 3

Now, back to the scary stuff. One thing cool about Universal’s Halloween experience is the Terror Tram.  You ride the tram, and you can get off and explore the backlot. Last year, guests could walk by the Psycho House/Bates Motel, Whoville, and the War of the Worlds set. This year it's 20 times better and twice as long. Like the streets, the monsters here are very good. You’ll see a campground and you are much closer to the plane on the War of the Worlds.

There’s also a maze, but it’s pretty lame. It’s like sheets with fences. I’m so not kidding. That needs to be redone. The monsters in the maze were good, though. The tram also was very fast. Last year, it took an hour. This year, ten minutes. Plus, there’s a sneak peek of the new Wolfman movie due out in April.

The last maze is the Texas Chainsaw Massacre maze. The wait was 60 minutes! (Again, get the fast pass.) It was really good. There were body bags again, and the monsters were very good in this maze. It's not worth waiting an hour, though, so get there early.

Now the adrenaline has worn off and I can’t wait to go back. Halloween Horror Nights, although a bit pricy at $54, is the most fun Halloween attraction around. There’s absolutely no competition. Halloween Horror Nights continues on October 4, 10-11, 17-19, 24-26, 30-31 and November 1.

Good article and thanks for promoting us! A quick fix tho: there was never a Van Helsing ride. It was a maze after the movie came out and then the maze was turned into the "House of Horrors", which houses a lot of Universal monsters, including the new addition this year: the STRANGERS!

Also, for those of you taking your children, the Chucky Show is NOT intended for children under 13 (a lot of cursing, but a funny show after all).
