With an improbable name like Elon Musk, we have a man who will take his place in history alongside folks like Henry Ford and Alexander Graham Bell. Granted, Mr. Musk didn't invent the technology that his rockets are based on, but his company will certainly go down in history as the first of its kind - a privately held commercial rocket company.
I look to see SpaceX take over some of the supply missions to the ISS in the decade ahead, and become a major player in providing launch services for communication satellites to countries around the world. And I dream of being on Kwajalein Island for the first launch of a Falcon 9 from that launch site. I honestly cannot think of a finer moment than watching one of SpaceX's big rockets reaching for space atop a pillar of smoke, thunder, and the fire that burns in the heart of all space enthusiasts.
(Elon, Elon, ELON, ELON!)
