The Lower Back Tattoo Revolution

Tattoos are everywhere! We see them in magazines, on celebrities, and every day on the streets. However, we come into contact with many more tattoos than we realize.

This is because many people have chosen to be inked on their lower back. This isn’t the preserve of pop starlets, but a growing trend among both women and men.

Obviously, more women have lower back tattoos, but many men also choose to express themselves on their lower back. Why? Because you choose exactly what you want to be inked with and you can choose who sees it and when.

You don’t have to have a butterfly or a flower; you can have barbed wire or someone’s name. There are so many lower back tattoo designs to choose from that there aren’t enough lower backs in the world to put them on!

Whilst many people opt for the more traditional sorts of lower back tattoos that they’ve seen other people inked with, it’s a great idea to think long and hard about which of the many tattoo designs you’ll settle on. The decision should not be taken lightly, as the tattoo will be with you until you depart this fair planet, unless you want to go down the route of having expensive and (usually) painful removal treatments.

The main advantage of having a lower back tattoo is that it can be more subtle than the other places on our bodies where we could be inked. The lower back is a more sensuous place (for both girls and guys), and it’s easy to alter our clothing to cover or uncover that tattoo should we wish. It’s also quite a large space, so there are many designs to choose from: freedom and an opportunity to express ourselves as boldly or as subtly as we want.
