After reading the blog I found it strange that we have bans on personal attacks on this blog when that's all the author did. To wish someone to be attacked by alligators is too much and he has the audacity to imply that B is over the top. I like B'm music. This isn't her best work but I can appreciate her trying to change her style a little. To everyone trying to say that she's airing out her dirty laundry, personal experience is what song writing is all about. Didn't Alicia Keys come out with diary, and Christina do naked. It's true that some of b's songs do not have the same depth as these artists, but she is at a different point of her life. Overall I liked the album and her voice quality, though not her best, is still way above most of what is out there. Everyone want to pick at her the way she dresses, her hair, her personality although none of us knows her and everyone will never like everything about a person. What standards do we hold stars to? Perfection. I believe that everyone does the best they can when they can and I pray that Beyonce continues to grow and perfect her craft. oh and about the Sasha thing, i understand. Being on stage is an adrenaline rush out of this world and can be a comfort zone esp to someone who loves what they do.

No, I do not like seeing Beyonce on every magazine cover all the time - because she is not the only talented black women in the industry. When Beyonce first came out she sounded like she was singing with her feet in a bucket of ice water, like when you try to sing and you are freezing to death. She has come a long way and she has done well. This last album had only 2 songs on it that I liked and I do hope that she does better on the next album. I don't want to think that because she is Beyonce she can just put anything out there and people will buy it because Beyonce is singing. Beyonce is a georgous young lady, I just wish this "hair blowing in the wind" routine would STOP. She has the world's attention and she could very well give us our defining moment that we deserve instead of mimicking the so called standard. This is a rare opportunity for her to put "us" on the map and we define what beautiful is thanks to her presence. Have you noticed everytime a sister gets the national attention the response is another blond? Beyonce has the physical characteristics that spell SISTA. Creole background or no she is African American. Now if she goes that creole route and all of a sudden she ain't quite African American WILL HURT HER. Mimi had the same revelation and can't wait for Tiger to get his reality check as well. She has not gotten many awards as of late, she may be at the award shows and perform but she is getting beat out by the likes of Mimi, Mary J just to name a few. She can't come out with a hit every time she opens her mouth and sings. But I would hate to see her develop an identity crisis and end up being ignored by her fan base because she don't know who she is.

Beyonce has a talent and a ego to match. Not too long ago my wife and kids had just arrived at the airport from a trip and was waiting for me to pick them up. When Beyonce and the other girls in the group pull up in a limo. Miss Beyonce gets out of the limo looks at them pulls her hat over her head and runs pass them in a frantic state. Her security or body guard glares at my wife and kids as if they were convicts on a mission. The other two ladies were nice and said hello and didn't break their necks to run pass them. As they contuine on, the body guard once again turns around and stares them down. I like some of her music and thought her best showing was at the Super Bowl. I believe Janet Jackson was singing that night also. Beyonce was fantastic! Best I have heard her sing so far. I give credit where credit is due. I only have this to say...I agree with the blog, Beyonce CANNOT sing and her album is ridiculously mediocre. She can carry a tune and inject a riff here or there (but so can my 12 year old neice in her church choir)...but a legendary singer she is not. Beyonce is MERELY a carefully marketed product that is seeing the end of the products life cycle (marketing 101). And for those who think she is a big star because she's #1 in the UK & Japan...duh, most every American artist that's distributed overseas hits the top of the charts. They love American music so much that those numbers have little to do with the quality of the product and more with the acceptance of the music. Also regarding the videos...she is so full of herself, she is likening herself to Josephine Baker in Deja Vu and Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation sequence in her stage performances of Ring The Alarm. Original this girl is not. Sorry Matthew, your baby girl may be the light of your eye but IMO her shine is lackluster in ours.
And finally, she certainly cannot act and its sad that she has obviously bought into her own hype. I've been thoroughly disappointed with her comments about J.Hud's performance (GMA & Oprah). If she is a "superstar" as she claims to be then she should have been more gracious in recognizing Jennifer's phenomenal vocal performance and not try to make it all about her.
She needs to take a 5 year hiatus from entertainment all together (no movies, no albums, no commercials, no appearances, no nothing!). Go Away Beyonce! Give us a break from the manufactured hype.

The opinion piece that got this whole thing started was very funny and if I had only seen the video for the first time after reading that, I'd agree with it completely. The video for Deja Vu was okay and the song is okay too. But they are not great. I really do feel bad for Beyonce because it seems like from the beginning, people have been saying so many negative comments about her every move. I understand that she is only human but when you make millions off of your fans or off of people trying to give your album or movie a chance, I think those people earn a little right to give their opinions about you. I guess it's just the price of fame. I do not think she was a particularly good actress in Dream Girls, the movie would have still been huge if another woman played her character whereas if another woman played the role that Jennifer Hudson played, the movie would be nothing. I feel so bad for Jennifer about getting the Best Supporting Actress award because she should not have been seen as being a back-up actress in that movie. For reasons like this, I become frustrated with Beyonce, though I realize these are not her fault. I feel like she gets off too easily because she is famous and beautiful. In every commercial for that movie that is out now, all you hear is Beyonce singing Listen or Eddie Murphy saying something in the background. I have yet to hear Jennifer Hudson speak in a preview for the movie for more than 3 seconds. I know that was off topic but I felt the need to vent about that.
Another thing I want to complain about (I'm in a REALLY bad mood!) concerns this whole name-callin biz...I'm not feelin it. It's so annoying to read people writing about the original author of this page. I read some comments that claimed that the man who wrote this --Chris-- is a loser or needs to work at Pizza Hut or whatever, not important, but come the heck on! How childish can you get? I think by the time people start surfing the internet, they realize it's easy and quick to just start typing about something that interests you. It doesn't mean that people don't have a life. And so what if he doesn't have a life, it's not like any one of those people complaining about it are offering to take him out to dinner. Secondly, those same complainers clearly had enough time to write a response just like the rest of us.
My next order of business while I'm at it is that people need to stop bringing up how many albums she's sold. I have her album and I don't even like half of the songs on there. I received the CD as a gift for Christmas and I wish I had a gift receipt so that I could get a better CD. This shows that everyone who buys her CDs does not always like them so those numbers mean nothing.
Though I don't like her latest CD, I still believe she is a wonderful singer. I admire the fact that she is not playing it safe with her music and that she is trying to make songs that steer away from what she is known for singing. I think she just missed the mark this time--she's still young though.
Also, I agree with those remarks which state that not being Beyonce's number one fan does not make a person a hater. I don't know that woman at all. I'll be the first to admit that she is gorgeous and she has amazing vocal abilities however, she is neither the queen of England nor Baby Jesus and people really need to realize that. Some people on here seem obsessed with her and they really need to calm down on the fanatics. It's really not that deep. Respect her craft but try not to take it personally if others aren't as into her as you all are because that's unrealistic. Also it's a waste of your time to try to fight every person who does not think Beyonce is just perfect. Face it she's not the best thing alive on this earth. I'm not trying to say she shouldn't be famous anymore but she needs to work on her skills and her albums some more next time. Finally, (just a lil bit more to really make her fans hate me--but it's the truth too) she doesn't always have to be the star of everything and normal people, like her and you and me, fail at things in life. Then we get back up and move on.

If Beyonce Knowles is the best that contemporary R&B has to offer, then so much the worse for contemporary R&B. I tried watching her sing songs from Dreamgirls on the Academy Awards broadcast, and she was awful. Even if the songs stunk, that's no excuse for her giving lousy performances. The greatest singers of R&B's Golden Age were almost all men, and they could sing the telephone book and make it sound good. Marvin Gaye, Al Green (alright, he was early '70s), the young Michael Jackson (1970), The Temptations, The Four Tops, Smokey Robinson, Junior Walker, Stevie Wonder, Sam Cooke, Jackie Wilson, Otis Redding, and on and on and on.

And to make a comment about how CHRIS EVANS said the reason her album is bad is because she did it in only ten days, Beyonce said herself that she didn't even plan on finishing that early and it was two weeks. The video makes sense to me due to the fact that Beyonce said she doesn't want to have choreography in the video but to act out the lyrics and have a bit of african dancing which you referred to as stomping around.
