Taylor Swift does not need to be associated with Joe Jonas to be famous. She is one of the most successful country acts today. Fearless dominated the charts. Earlier this week, the eighteen-year-old singer/songwriter had thirteen of the top fifteen songs on iTunes’ Top Country Songs chart, including the entire Top 10. Taylor also had two songs in the top fifteen of Billboard’s all-genre Hot 100 singles chart, AND Fearless held the #1 slot at the top of iTunes all-genre Top Albums chart. Taylor is the only female artist ever to have five consecutive Top Ten singles from a debut album on the Billboard country chart. Currently, she has the number one song on Billboard's country chart and has three on the Billboard top 50. So much for the "Taylor wants fame" argument: the Jonas Brothers have zero. Ouch. Her album, according to Billboard, is on track to sell over 600,000 copies.
Now, I like both Joe Jonas and Taylor Swift, but this fight between fans is really ridiculous. Let’s just let Taylor be Taylor and let Joe ride it out with his new girlfriend in Mexico. Name-calling and dissing Taylor is really pointless and childish.

We don't know exactly what happened, so we can't judge. I do think Taylor definitely could have and should have handled the break up much more maturely, but that is no reason to bash her because we really don't know. I do think that breaking up with Taylor over the phone maybe wasn't the best way to break up, but that is no reason to call him classless because we really don't know. We can't trust everything Taylor says to be completely unbiased because she is hurt. Of course she will portray the one who hurt her as a jerk. All in all I think it is just better to let them live their lives and trust that both made decision that were best for them.

i hate taylor. i think shes selfish, and she knows that the only reason he broke up with her over the phone is because he wasn't anywhere near her and is one of the busiest people on the planet. i think its fine to write songs about it, but not to go off about it in blogs. This kind of thing should be kept personal, and i'm sure that right now joe's really glad he dumped her. i'd be if one of my exes behaved that way.

I think that Taylor handled this maturely. She never actually said anything bad about Joe. She merely was stating that she was hurt by how he broke up with her. And I would be too, if some guy took less than half a minute to tell me it was over because he found someone else.
I mean I know lots of girls are obsessed with the Jonas Brothers, but I'm personally not a fan-at all. I love Taylor. She's the greatest person on the planet and she deserves so much better. It's not even that big of a deal, I don't think she could have kept it quiet. It bugged me that she wouldnt say if she was dating him or not over the summer, cause it's sooo obvious. She didn't want to hide things from her fans-and I'm glad she came out with it.
I don't like Joe, never have, never will. I love Taylor and I'll stand by her no matter how she handles any break up.

And seriously, to complain that the call was only 27 seconds when you are the one who ended the call, that's a bit hypocritical. Her job is to write songs about her life, not ruin her ex-boyfriend's life.
I doubt that she really "owed it to her fans", I don't follow her that closely but I know that most Jonas fans would agree that none of the Jonas Brothers owes us anything. They give their all day in and day out, and I'm sure Taylor does the same. Her fans don't need any more than that, and to expect inside access to her personal life would be selfish of the fans. Don't get me wrong, Jonas Brothers fans go to rediculous lengths to find any tidbit of information on the boys, but I would never expect them to personally tell us everything about their lives.
Taylor could have been more mature and just told Ellen something like " We're no longer together," and left it at that. Instead, she chose to tell the world, and the whole situation just snowballed.
Whatever, I think it'll be better for both of them once this drama blows over and goes away.

The one thing I love the most about Taylor is she stays true to herself. Whether its a break up with a nobody from high school or with a boy in the public eye, she deals with it the same way. She writes and sings about it. And when shes questioned about it she answers. I absolutely adore her for who she is and honestly think she handles situations the best she can. As for anyone mentioning her doing it for publicity, well thats just comical and laughable at the least. I have nothing against the Jonas Brothers, but lets be serious, they do nothing for Taylor's fame, that she got on her own. And more power to her for having the courage to voice what happened and write songs that express her feelings instead of stupid meaningless songs like most artists.
