Could it possibly be that heterosexuals really are afraid that homosexual unions could potentially ruin the sanctity of marriage? Maybe it is not merely an act of hatred on behalf of the President, members of Congress, the Pope, and Pat Robertson. Now that I think of it - the only logical way a homosexual marriage could alienate the traditional form of marriage is if homosexuals were statistically more successful in maintaining a legal bond of unity.
It is suddenly now apparent that they are afraid that lesbians will make them look shameful. And God forbid, our patriarchal society dare not allow the women to one-up the men. We only allow that in golf right now, not in the things that really matter.
So maybe the problem is not homosexuals. Maybe the root of the problem is with men in general. This recent political move is being made by a predominantly male government. They are also joined by the obedient homemakers of Congress, a.k.a. Republican women. Together, they a making a ploy to round up the guilty infidels whom infest our nation so they can gang up and point the finger at the most likely scapegoat of all - gay people.
So c'mon America, it's time to be patriotic! Let's wrap ourselves up in the American flag and blame the gays. Traditionally speaking, it is America's most deeply rooted family value of all. Isn't it?
