It may be natural to be confused by the concurrent sales, so we selected a few power tools to help us out. The Craftsman 17191 19.2-volt C3 Cordless Drill/Driver goes for $67.99, down from the original $79.99, a 15% discount as advertised. The Craftsman C3 19.2-Volt Cordless 1/2” Wrench Kit, regular price $139.99, is knocked off $40 to $99.99. This is a good markdown, but there’s no extra 15% taken off at the register.
Conclusion
Sears’ Cyber Monday Now sale is not as exciting as shoppers might hope. The retailer has solid discounts across the board on hundreds of items, but nothing out of the ordinary for this Cyber Monday sale. The lack of clarity on the online site about what items are discounted as Cyber Monday deals and which sales fall under the banner of other promotions leads us to believe that Sears might be rolling together a bevy of existing deals and just throwing a few more discounts on top.
The items, as well, seem to be a mixture of clearance goods, back-to-school kids essentials, and non-big ticket merchandise. Lots of items in the advertised categories are actually excluded, so be sure to read the fine print. To us, Sears is clearly piggybacking off the marketing strength of the Cyber Monday name to showcase less than stellar deals.

Sears reminds me of a fish out of water struggling to breathe in a completely foreign environment. To think at one time nearly twenty years ago the folks at Sears saw so much potential in the cyber world they formed the original Prodigy network. The idea of putting the enormous Sears Catalog on line was thwarted by management and in so doing left the hole that would eventually be filled by Amazon.
