Thesis, antithesis — will there be a synthesis in the exuberantly salacious Sara Evans divorce tale?
The "thesis" in this little drama is country music Female Vocalist of the Year Sara Evans' abrupt withdrawal as a contestant from ABC's Dancing With the Stars in conjunction with incendiary accusations against husband Craig Schelske in a napalm-strength divorce petition.
Evans, 35, filed on October 12, alleging that Schelske, 43, a Republican fundraiser who ran for congress in Oregon's 5th District in 2002, committed adultery with her personal assistant Alison Clinton, was verbally abusive, drank excessively, watched pornography in the presence of their three young children in their Nashville home, and looted the family "church tithing" bank account of $274,000.
The complaint also alleges Schelske has "many" pornographic photographs on his computers, including "at least 100" of him "posing with his erect penis" and "several photographs showing the defendant having sex with other women," and of placing ads on Craig's List seeking "three party" and "anal" sex.
Last Monday, in the first antithesis response to the allegations, Alison Clinton — Evans' personal assistant, erstwhile nanny to the Schelskes' children, and "aspiring vocalist" — issued a statement through her attorney denying the charges, saying she "categorically reject[s] the sad, unlawful and despicable attempt by Evans to assign part of the blame for her broken marriage on an alleged affair with Evans' husband."
On Wednesday, Clinton took a lie detector test under the auspices of syndicated celebrity gossip show Extra!, administered by "a former FBI agent with a master's degree in polygraph," who asked "direct and candid questions about Clinton's alleged relationship with Craig Schelske." Thursday, the show announced she had demonstrated "no deception."
Friday, Schelske responded with a massive counter-thrust — a MAJOR antithesis to the Evans claims. In his official response to Evans' divorce petition filed in Tennessee's Williamson County Chancery Court, Schelske denies allegations of adultery, verbal and emotional abuse, drinking excessively, frequent pornography use, and Craig's List indiscretions, while asserting the couple watched porn together, that Evans had been neglecting him and their children since the onset of Dancing with the Stars, and that Evans had an "intimate relationship" with another, unnamed, man.
Schelske also denies he has nude photos of himself, or photos of him having sex with other women on any of his computers, and he claims he and Evans were watching pornography TOGETHER when their 7-year-old daughter, whom they believed to be asleep, entered their room unexpectedly. "Husband has never maintained such photographs nor has he ever posed for any photographs of himself taken unclothed except a few taken by wife on their tenth wedding anniversary," the document states. "Further, Husband denies any sexual photographs of himself with any other women as there are no authentic photographs of husband unclothed with any sexual partner or alone except as taken by Wife or with Wife on the single occasion in which both parties participated."

if those "photos" were taken digitally, there won't be any "original photos"...they might only exist on his hard drive..which is a safe bet to have been wiped by now...hence this particular bit of possible bullshit

Who's the idiot who wrote this article? In a pathetic attempt to sound intelligent, they continuously use words like "thesis" and "antithesis"... These documents have actual legal names, you might actually have succeeded in sounding smart if you had bothered to use those.

There was nothing idiotic in the attempt to use "thesis", "anti-thesis and "synthesis" here, but it would have been more accurate to say that a synthesis had broken down to its constituent thesis and anti-thesis. In the final analysis, that is what a divorce really boils down to. What makes divorces particularly messy is the fact that the "synthesis," usually has products additional to the original thesis and anti-thesis (like kids).

I am curious who she supposedly cheated with?? Well believe it or now, when she left Dancing with the stars for sure I would have thought he cheated with that Tony dancer. I know someone here in Arizona that he was having an affair with, while his wife was pregnant in NY.
