By now I'm sure you've all heard the news. On Monday morning, a spokesperson for Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe confirmed the two are separating after seven years of marriage. I was shocked, I was sad, I cried.
But now the story is heating up even more because a possible reason for the break-up might be Ryan's infidelity. First of all, I can't say I can blame the man for wanting to cheat on Reese in the first place. I spent the first half of Legally Blonde trying to figure out which one was the chihuahua — Reese or Bruiser. And Ryan is hotter than Kirstie Alley in a room full of Krispy Kremes.
But it seems the situation took Abbie Cornish, Ryan's Australian co-star in an upcoming film by Kimberly Pierce (Boys Don't Cry), by surprise. The movie, called Stop Loss, is about a soldier who returns home to Texas from the Iraq war and then refuses to return to battle despite his obligation to do so. Apparently Ryan and Abbie were seen making out in an Austin, Texas restaurant on the last day of filming. 
It's alledged that the entire situation blew up when Reese found secret dirty messages on Ryan's Blackberry the two of them had been sending back and forth the night of the Flags of our Fathers red carpet premiere. Of course, this is only rumor. There are no concrete sources confirming any specific reason for why the two split. This whole cheating saga could just be flimsy gossip.
Even if Ryan wasn't unfaithful to Reese, I think there are other reasons this marriage didn't last. Both of them have been open and honest about going to individual therapists, as well as joint marriage counseling sessions, in an effort to keep their relationship afloat. Both of these talented people have booming careers right now. Add two children to the mix, as well as a lot of press, and you have quite the challenge on your hands.

When did I say Ryan had any talent? Though I personally do think he is a talented actor--I didn't say anything about it in the article nor do I think it has anything to do with whether or not he has a booming career.
Cameron Diaz makes 20 million a film despite the fact the poor woman can't act her way out of a box.
Same with Jennifer Lopez and a multitude of other actors and actresses.

It seems like most of the people who care about this kind of thing cling to a sense of "personal connection" with these celebrities. For example:
"I am personally upset over the break up".
NEWS FLASH: You mean nothing to these celebrities. Get a life. Don't waste your time referring to these celebrities by their first names, or a nickname, like you know them. You are just another obsessed fan. Nothing more, nothing less. Except you a little bit more stalkerish.
Tina, I agree that it is a sad thing when you're filming a movie with a person and you fall in love with them rather than your spouse. Especially when you're not actually filming a movie. In fact, you're actually watching it. And you actually haven't even met the person. And you're in your basement. Alone.
Final plea: Lose the delusions of actually having some connection with the celebrities. Go out and live a real life, with real relationships. Please. For everyone's sake, but especially for your own.

since when is Reese Witherspoon homely? Your eyesight must be as poor as your commentary. Last time I checked, magazine editors like Anna Wintour (Vogue) and Graydon Carter (Vanity Fair) weren't in the habit of putting ugly women on the covers of their magazines. Last time I checked, it was Reese, not Ryan, who's charm and charisma turned bland dribble like "Legally Blonde" and "Sweet Home Alabama" into smash hits. I sincerely doubt that Reese would be the highest paid actress in Hollywood, if she were so uneasy on the eyes. Besides, if good looks are everything in show business, and Ryan is so much prettier, as you allege, then shouldn't he be the one getting paid tens of millions per picture?
